No, I want to re-download the sofrware I previosly bought from Ovi Store to my phone. It doesn't matter if it's directly or via PC.

Yes, that's right. But bear in mind that there is a "download-limit"...

Yeah, see, I tried that already.

Here's what I get (and what I've always got):

http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/8176/ovistore1.png

http://img862.imageshack.us/img862/3614/ovistore2.png

I used the "Send to mobile" option to re-download before, but it doesn't work anymore. I get the SMS, but when I open the link I'm only offered to buy the software, not download it, as if I've never bought it at all.

And I didn't download stuff for more than 5 times...

I've contacted Support but they don't seem to give a **bleep**! As usual.

You have to be patient when waiting for a reply from Nokia Service centre...

Re: Re-download software bought from Ovi Store

They responded very swiftly, that's not the issue.

The problem is they sent me instructions that didn't help me, and when I replied saying that, they told me my "previous email has been answered" and that I should "kindly refer to the last email for the response that has been provided".

So yes, they don't give a sh*t.

Same problem here.

I haven't even exhausted my 5-time-download-limit, but still can't download apps that I bought.

The so-called Nokia support doesn't reply at all!

How can there be a 5-time-download-limit at all, Nokia?

I had to get my phone switched 4 times, due to reboots and crashes! If I had only downloaded apps once to every phone, I'd be out of "free" downloads!

It's just bold of you to sell thousands or even ten- or hundred-thousands of crashing and rebooting phones and still have this 5-time-limit.

I am just so sick of it, Nokia! And I understand now, why people will get themselves a spyware phone over a Nokia phone.

Re: Re-download software bought from Ovi Store

Yeah... I'm very disappointed with Nokia too and I most probably won't be buying another one of their phones for quite some time.

If you did exceed the 5-download limit (which they "forgot" to mention when we originally bought the software), you should at least receive a notification about it when you try to download it. As is, it appears as if there's something wrong with the Ovi Store service (that might be the case too, who knows).

So, yeah, I had the exact same issue as you, had to hard reset the phone a few times (I'm pretty sure it was two times), and I had to take the phone to a service centre once because a software update went wrong and my phone was left semi-useless. I don't know if I reached the 5-download limit, but I don't even have to know something like that. I don't have to count how many times I had to do what is basically a "clean install" on my phone just because of Ovi Store. I lost A HELL OF A LOT OF TIME reinstalling all the software and I GET PENALTIES FOR IT!

That's just OBSCENE!

OK, after that lengthy rant - here's what I can do to help you... In the end, I managed to fix my problem. I sent numerous emails to Nokia Support, replied to their responses, none of which were any help, until someone from Nokia Support (I don't know who it was, I'd really like to thank him/her) sent me links to the software via SMS. So my advice is - be persistent and keep bullying Nokia Support until they send you links so you can download software you paid for.

Sorry I couldn't do more, but hope that helps (eventually).

Cheers, bye!

Thanks for your advice, dude!

Will certainly do so! It's just (as mentioned before) mate!

First you have to get your phone replaced severtal times before you actually get one that works. Then you get screwed for your persistence of trying to stick with the manufacturer that seem to not have any quality control whatsoever. And as if that ain't enough, you can't even download stuff to your new phone, even though you haven't exceeded you limit!

How do I know I haven't? Because I dl a piece of **bleep** SW (Hero of....), which I got rid of after about an hour.

It's a bad joke. You pay twice or even more than android/ios users and in return you get kicked in the n..s. Thanks for that!

Re: Re-download software bought from Ovi Store

I'm having the same problem re-downloading stuff from Ovi to my 5800.  Was thinking about upgrading to an N8 but if Nokia/Ovi support is so bad and I can't get the apps then I might as well change to Samsung Galaxy or Iphone.  There should be a way to reset the download history on Ovi store - at least for free apps anyway.

Re: Re-download software bought from Ovi Store

You can re-download free stuff, as long as it's still available.

I don't really recommend getting an N8 unless you're planning on using it chiefly for photography and video recording. It's great at that, but not that good as a whole.

Re: Re-download software bought from Ovi Store

There is no redownload - only 2 buttons - Launch (doesn't work) or review.

Does anyone from Nokia read these comments or are we wasting our time here?

Re: Re-download software bought from Ovi Store

I have the same issue. My phone crashed and I had to re-flash. All the apps disappeared, I didn't have a chance to make a backup. I had bought several things from Ovi Store and I can't download any of them any more.... I didn't download them 5 times either!!! If anyone learns what's going on and how to fix it, I'd love to know?

I have also written to Support but my experience is the same as everyone else's  - no reply.... :smileysad:

You'll receive a reply from the support team, but... unfortunately... I doubt it'll be of much use.

Anyway, don't beat yourself about not making a backup.

I did make one, but Nokia are such freaking bast*rds - their backups don't include software bought from Ovi Store! I  thought I'd made some kind of mistake when I was making the backup, but no, all the other software was these.

They try to protect themselves from piracy that way, I can understand that, but in situations like that, I had very little or no trouble with other companies. By now, I've contacted Microsoft (about reactivating Windows), Real, Kaspersy, etc. and Nokia has without doubt been THE WORST so far.

Re: Re-download software bought from Ovi Store

Same thing here. Today was the first time my E72 gave me grief in 14 months of use. The dammn phone's email sync went out of whack, then it started to restart over and over by itself (no virus, I use Kaspersky bought directly from the company(Thank God)). When that stopped, I find all my apps have vanished from my phone. Went to ovi store to re download and all I get is buy, buy, buy. On top of that my ovi mail (where all the reciepts were mailed to) is not accessible anymore because apparently ''m.umair.masood'' has too many dots!!!!??? So that means I can't even contact the original suppliers/vendors for a redownload and all Nokia can do is 'APOLOGISE!!' :@
This is in all probability my last Nokia phone.

Keep emailing and/or calling them, they'll send you links eventually. They did to me after 20-something emails. I was going to call them by phone too, but they sent me links by SMS before I did.
