Ovi share on N96 - problems

Hello Board,

I've recently set up a Share account up so i can send photos from my phone to my Ovi site when i am on the move.

But i've got a problem..

I select the Share Ovi icon on my phone, and it asks me to enter my username and PW which i have done.

It then asks to select a connection type, so i select Vodafone Live, as that is my internet connection.

The phone tells me "Retrieve services now?"

I select yes..

I then get this message:

"System error 405!" and it fails to connect.

So i try to connect via WLAN and i get this message:

"Retrieving services... ... ...Network Error -5120"

Does anybody know why this is?
If so, how to fix it?

Thanks

Re: Ovi share on N96 - problems

I'm surprised nobody else is having this error.

Can it only be me?

I have also tried asking on the Ovi support forums, and no response there either.

Unfortunately no.

My problem is similar, but I changed connection and went a step further: now it says my username and/or password are wrong. But their are not.

Ideas?

Re: Ovi share on N96 - problems

I got my phone only 2 days ago and i'm having the same issue!

You can sync with ovi using the sync section under tools. The only issue with this is that it defaults to Nokia PC Suite and you have to change this in "change active profile". (Annoyingly you have to do this EVERY TIME you want to sync with Ovi!

Wake up Nokia, I think there's a growing issue right here with your firmware and services menu!!

Re: Ovi share on N96 - problems

I am having the exact same problem !!!

My password & username are correct but it still refuses me access !!

What's more is that its not just limited to Ovi - the exact same thing happens with Mfe too !!!

THIS IS A SERIOUS ERROR !!! AND WE NEED A FIX ASAP.
WITHOUT SUCH FUNCTIONALITY, OUR PHONES ARE JUST EXPENSIVE PAPERWEIGHTS !!!

I AM BEGINNING TO BITTERLY REGRET HAVING "UPGRADED" FROM MY n95 (AND I USE THE TERM UPGRADE VERY VERY LOOSELY)

Re: Ovi share on N96 - problems

Both sites work with my PC so at least they don't seem to be down.

Have you created own user names for both services? If not then you should. Ovi sync and Share are not using the same credentials.

Also which access points are you using? Some operators filter the traffic heavily especially when using WAP access points.

Maybe these will help you a bit further on your quest to share :smileyhappy:

Re: Ovi share on N96 - problems

I didn't realise the services were "different". Evidently a Nokia thing!!

Call both services Ovi, yet have the different logins for each facility!

All sorted out now though, ceers for the tip-off!!

Re: Ovi share on N96 - problems

I got system error 19 when I was trying upload pictures via WLAN.

Few months ago online share application worked fine. Hard reset has helped a few times but I had to reinstall everything.

Re: Ovi share on N96 - problems

Hi! I also have this problem. Error -19 when uploading. I checked the ovi share service by N96 and found confusing and interesting word. " Max number of objects: 1-6" Can some one confirm this?

Re: Ovi share on N96 - error 19 solved!!!

I just solved my problem. I was sucsessful uploading my picture. Try using 3G data connection instead of WLAN. I have a Televell 510v4 W/LAN router and I have a lot connection lossess with my phone. Go to options -> connection setting->default connetion point->your operator.
