Ovi Store has sent me four e-mails saying they've removed comments for violating guidelines. The e-mail is rather rude and threatens to terminate my account.
I can't see anything wrong with these comments, can anyone here tell me why these were removed?
Review 1: "This isn't the most amazing game in the world, but it's very nice as a bit of freeware and it helps pass the time while waiting for a bus. It's especially good on the 5800 as you can select letters directly from the touchscreen."
Review 2: "One of the things I like to do on Minesweeper for Windows is vary the grid size, but there's no option for this on Mine Sweeper Touch. Apart from that, this is absolutely fine, it's an almost exact copy of the classic Windows game. Great fun."
Review 3: "This is a nice freeware connect 4 clone, fun to play, with one or two player modes (the two player is sharing the same phone, passing back and forth). Uses the full 5800/N97 touchscreen well."
Just to summarise: I'm posting reviews on Ovi Store, they're mostly positive, I'm actually encouraging people to buy these games, I'm not breaking any rules, but Nokia is repeatedly removing these reviews and sending me e-mails threatening to terminate my account.
What's the point? I'm definitely not posting any more comments on Ovi Store if this is how they're going to treat me. This has been going on for months now so it can't be any kind of one-off glitch.
I've repeatedly tried complaining about this but get no response. This is just pathetic.

Mgoksoy, I don't think Ovi is removing criticism because my reviews aren't critical. The games where my reviews were taken down still have lots of critical reviews on them.
It's more like Ovi is removing reviews at random, it's like Ovi is totally out of control.

Wow! I dont know what to say, review violates the guideline or is forbidden at all.
Mind that.

It's happened yet again, twice.
Here are a couple more reviews which Ovi Store has sent me threatening e-mails about. Can someone please explain what breaks Ovi's rules about these?
"This is a fairly standard but solid platformer, and it's always nice to see W&G in action."
"There are some really nice and interesting features in this experimental application, the magnifying glass for example is an excellent idea which ought to be standard on all phone photo browsers."
...and both these reviews were removed by the "Ovi Store Moderation Team". What kind of team are they? Are they just hitting the "delete" button at random?

I wonder if this 'team' is picking up words and phrases that are names of copyrighted applications, e.g., Connect4, Minesweeper, or just words/phrases that are considered objectionable.
If you're comparing an app against another copyrighted name/app, it may cause the app's publisher grief if the copyrighted app's publisher decides to sue. This team can remove any references to these copyrighted apps, then there is less evidence...
This is pure speculation/imagination on my part.

the very same thing has happened to me, although my comments weren't quite as complimentary as some of yours neoncherry. this was my comment about Guitar Hero World Tour Mobile
> guitar track doesn't cut out when you miss a note, rendering the entire game pointless. What a shame.
i stand by my comment, though it is merely a personal opinion that it renders the game pointless.
i've tried to email them back but my replies keep being returned by hotmail postmaster. will try a few other customer service email addresses before i give up.

I do know nokia doesn't like critisism, most post i make about how bad some phones are, are deleted within the next hour. But deleting your kind of post looks kinda odd to me. there is nothing to be afraid of for nokia in these reviews.
Isn't it the name you are using? else i really wouldn't know.

I would guess that this is somehow caused by the "Report abuse"-feature on the store. At least three people have reported the same on this forum and we have forwarded your posts to the Ovi Store team so they can take a look.
(Sygys22, I don't understand what you mean by "posts you've made about how bad some phones are" being deleted within the next hour. You've registered on this forum today, you've written four posts and none of them have been removed.)

im a member for more then a few months... today i got the message the upgrade my account and select an avatar name or something. so im starting all over again. i dont know why. the whole login system has changed for me also.
But im speaking the truth. A while ago before the n97 was released i had some discussion with a person i think was called psycho. after release i was right about what i allready said and thought about the n97 because of all the complaints people have of this device. So i made my statement that i indeed was right and the n97 had as i said terrible hardware and especially to be called a flagship.
But then my post was removed. What says enough for me!
I understand that you guys are just doing your work. It just frustrates me that nokia doesn't releases a descent phone anymore (in my opinion atleast). And for as far as i can see now allready posts are starting to pop up on the maemo site about the n900 and every nokia forum about the bad battery that will be used. leaving people yet again with emty hands with spending 600 euro incl. taxes.
But these statement i just made again are always deleted. why? i dont know! these arent facts till the phone comes out. but if everyone talks about it even before release why doesn't nokia use these feedbacks? this will become atleast the fourth n serie device in a row that has a small battery that cant keep up against the users needs these days.
I have a n96 at the moment and am on firmware 30.033. I have this phone for almost a year now and it still dont function like it should be... When i first got it out of the box and used it, it crashed 3 times in the first 10 minutes. the navigation in the standby menu was terrible slow. tell me vandelay, how is this possible? why was this phone even released with this much bugs?
And nowadays all the nokia phones have these glitches and bugs. I thinks its starting to become more important to make allot of phones then to make quality phones.
Im not here to offend some one or Nokia as a brand. I love nokia and i will always keep buying nokia phones. i only hope someday we will buy phones again that dont crash every day and really have a standby time of 10 days.
I think there are allot of people among these forums feeling just the same as i do about this.
