I was today able to update Ovi Store to the version 2.12.042 and I would like to know what is the changelog.

I can't see no differences, specially in the resolution of 2 major problems I have with my C7 (v14):

1. I can't seem to update widgets via Ovi Store.  Apps/games do update but widgets always fail to update since gives an error or, even without giving error, it doesn't update and shows update available when Ovi Store is restarted.  Example: Chat (v1.0.1) and CNN (from 1.1.574 to 1.2.659) - I point out the versions because some people here said it was because it wanted to update to a older version and I think it's not the case.
2. When browsing long lists, icons and info about apps disappear when new ones are loaded to the list.

These problems existed in the previous version and are still present in the new one.

You can't update IM for Nokia because you probably have version 3.11.65 (if I remember correctly)   and the update on the server 1.0.1    and older version.

The update file on the Ovi store servers are incorrect some how.

It tells you there is an update for your version of IM for Nokia, but then gives a version number that is way older then the one you already have installed, that's why it fails.

This have nothing to do with the client on the phone. Its something wrong on server level.

Almost the same goes for the CNN. 

The CNN application is at least telling there is a newer version then the one you already have installed.

But seems the install file you get to download from the server is not the updated installation file, but the one you already have.

I suspect in both these cases, someone made a 'bobo' on the server... (but it has been reported, so hopefully it will be fixed soon.)

Updating the client in the phone will not resolve this. The client in the phone just reads what the server files say.....

Maybe there is problems in the numeration of the versions (not the case on the CNN app, and I have more widget ones with the same problem) or in the files on the Ovi Store servers.  One thing is certain, I can't update to the latest version of the apps and this only occurs on widget based apps.

Regarding Chat app, I don't have the newer version ( http://conversations.nokia.com/2011/06/09/message-for-free-with-im-for-nokia/ ) and this has been reported from everyone and everywhere.

About the Ovi Store update, I still can't figure out what was the update about.  Nothing new that I noticed and the same bugs are there.

On the Hotline they told me there is a Update release planned that solves all problems for the 15.Aug. let's Hope and pray

Just to update that, after restarting the phone (and I updated social by uninstallling the old one and install the one available at Ovi Store), the problem with lons lists is now sorted.

If this version was to correct that bug, then well done because it seems that it did.

my ovi store doesn't show if there are any updates or not...mine is still 2.12.039.... more over I had this previous version of CNN app 1.1.574....even after I updated it in Ovi store which was offering 1.1.659...I still get the same version..1.1.574 no update at all..they told to delete the ovi notifications and the previous CNN app before installation of the beta 1.2.659....but dude this has now graduated to a commercial project now...it got to have bug free...seriously...nikia needs to fix this bug!!!!waiting for some remedy...

Yesterday I received another Ovi Store update, this time via Software update.  When opening the Ovi Store, I was prompted to update to the same version I had.  I did it and now the Ovi Store has stopped giving me the information that I have updates for my apps.

This would be great if I the CNN app wasn't on the version 1.1.574 and the Ovi Store says that the last one is 1.2.659.  Maybe I have all updated or maybe not, the truth is that Nokia is making a mess from all this and users just don't know when their apps are updated or not.

It wasn't the social app, it was the latest Store update and a few more reboots.

I was about to give up, since the phone restarted thrice (Anna, Anna 1/2 and 2/2 and Ovi/Social) and the lists still were broken - but one more reboot and it worked. And it was a nice one, with the button, not the restart thing that OVI suite does.

It's fixed, it's fixed, it's finally fixed. Now, if they would make the new icons optional that's be great.

Oh, bloody 'ell it's not fixed.

If you fiddle with the store, log in, check settings it does it again. Exit and enter again and it's working. Fiddle with it and it does it again.

Still, it kind of works.

using 2.12.042 version after having my ovistore updated i no longer get the notifications for my app updates. now i dont know if there are updates for my apps. help?

I have the same problem. Updated to 2.12.045 and my Updates section of My Account Disappeared. **bleep**?
