Hi @ll,
I don't know about you, but I can't sync calendar events back & forth since last week (when Ovi Calendar 1.6 went from beta to live).
No errors reported by the phone ovi sync app. It's just no calendar appointments being sent (contacts is working though).
I've even master-resetted my X6.. no way.
Are you experiencing the same? As a long-time Nokia supporter, I MUST think this is not a general issue in such an essential feature.

Hello,
I'm experiencing exactly the same issue since yesterday, when I started using the system for the first time (nokia 5800). My contacts are syncing fine both ways, but calendar only one way, from phone to web only.
Hope this i a temp problem...

Hi Pingoo,
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, looks like it only syncs calendar and task items from phone to server (not the other way around).
I also hope this will be fixed soon, but I wonder if this is a known (and ackowwledged) issue.. most people seems to rely on local (i.e. outlook) sync.
In the meanwhile, by playing around with the different sync settings in the phone , I've lost several entries forever (since my last backup)... too bad.
A "maintenance note" in the calendar section of ovi.com will also be greatly appreciated (don't let people get fooled trying to fix this themselves)

Maybe we should make Engadget aware of this issue to get some push :-)

I'm having same problems and it's me off, because I need to sync my calendar several times in a day for work.
I hope they'll solve and fix this problem.

I'm relieved to know I'm not the only one to consider this (PIM sync) an essential feature that must be handled with care.
I LOVE my X6, but I'll make the switch (to other platform) if this does not get the attention it deserves.

Yes, very annoying. I can confirm this for an E72. I tried both the Ovi sync application and the general sync application (configured for Ovi) on the phone, same result.
However, something seems to be happening: While all my previous syncs logged no changed items, my last sync logged a great many changed items (potentially all) and took much longer. Perhaps Nokia tried some kind of reset. The problem remains though.

I confirm this error for my E72.
Today I can't check it, because after klicking the Login-Button I get a server error 500.
We are talking about a service for business customers not about an open source project in pre-beta phase.
The same for the ovi suite on my notebook, seems also to be a pre-beta.
Recenty I switched from Palm to Nokia but now I think an iPhone would have been the better choice.

Actually it is kind of a SLOW REACTION problem...
I've been using the calendar since beta, didn't knew that was already released until I read this.
The sync does work, but like once a day or so, don't know why, but everything I add today will appear in my phone (in case of added in Ovi.com) the next day I sync, and the same goes with thing added in the phone, those will appear in Ovi.com the next day.
Is a bug, huge bug, but it does sync.

Syncing from phone to server looks ok (at least in the few tests that I did).
Can't wait til tomorrow to check if the server->phone sync works (once ;-).
I don't know what is worse though (not syncing at all or the situation you described).
In addition, if this is related to the new ovi calendar app, I can't understand why Nokia does not undeploy to previous version until they get this fixed.
Anyway, many thanks for the feedback.

Good morning
I've just tried to sync (one day passed). Same as yesterday:
- Phone to server: Ok
- Server to phone: No way (log says "successful", but no items on the server get sync'ed)
- Contacts & notes: Ok
I'm surprisedI haven't seen references to this issue elsewhere (a part from this forum). Did you?

Good Morning,
today sync to phone still does not work at all, I can't see any calender item. Even worse: The items I entered in ovi.com are gone - neither in ovi.com nor on the E72 they are visible any more.
Can this problems be related to this categories at ovi.com which are not selectable on the E72?

I've contact ovi support about this issue (by e-mail). I'll keep you posted.

Yes, the problem remains, so for me it is still a one-way sync only. At least I haven't lost any items. They sit happily in my Ovi online calendar but just won't appear on my phone after syncing.
I've emailed Ovi support as well. Fingers crossed.

The problem seemed to start over the weekend - I reported it also to Nokia with specifics, and am awaiting response. They've come back once for more info
Will also post any update.

Same issue with E71 for 2 days now!
OVI Calender is a great service when it works...

3 days (at least) without proper calendar synchronization!
No answer from Ovi support (yet)
This is growing on me .. today at lunch time I have been looking at some Android handsets :-/
If it wasn't for the missing tasks (Android does not currently sync "to-do" tasks with google calendar) I'm sold..

I was used to find the changes in both calendars (phone and ovi.com) next day, until reading your post, I checked and found that in my case is the same, the sync seems to fail, but without any notice.
I hope somebody in Ovi Team notice that too, I sent an email and tweet

Just for the record, I have the exact same issue on my phone. Syncing from server to phone fails without any error message. (Phone to server is ok.) At least good to see that it's a server issue and not a problem with my phone...
What is it with these seemingly trivial calendar bugs that service providers aren't able to fix??? I wanted to use Google calendar's web interface on my previous phone, but it has a bug which prevents users from setting up reminders of any kind (I was hoping to have e-mail reminders mailed to my phone). This bug, which basically renders the interface totally unusable, has been around for a long time now, but Google apparently doesn't want to fix it.
I seriously don't hope we have to wait that long for a fix from Nokia. Without proper calendar synchronization I basically don't have any good reason to continue to use the phone.
