Hi.

I recently applied the V2 firmware update to my N97.

I performed a full reset on the phone afterwards.

Everything seemed fine until I tried the OVI store application. It said there was a newer version, and said I must update to proceed.

I told it to update.

It looked like it started up a new browser window (to do the download) and then up pops a box "Unable to download 'OviStore_50_prdSrv_1_5_387.sisx".

I have tried this whilst connected via mobile data, and via my wifi. Which must be working for the initial OVI store to know there is an update!

Any ideas, or is this an undocumented V2 feature?

I just tried to download the OVI store application on my PC, which of course you can't do as it wants you to download with your phone (grrrr, things used to be so much simpler when you could download a .sis on the PC).

Anyway, I told it to send me a text message with the download link.

After 5 minutes nothing had arrived, so I just gave up waiting and just used the N97's browser to log into the ovi website and try the download that way...

Still the same problem.

Well earlier today it actually let me onto the OVI store from the N97 app... But when I tried to download the application I wanted I again got the "cannot download nnnnnnn.sisx" error.

Just tried it again, and I'm back to step one again, it says OVI application is out of date and needs updating, then errors when I try to download the app.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I wouldn't mind, but the app I'm after only seems to be available via the OVI store, which is *very* annoying.

Last update, I'm going to have to create a thread in another area...

It's not an OVI problem.

I managed to find the sisx for the application I wanted... My N97 browser cannot even download that. There is something wrong with the browser, not OVI. The sisx downloads and installs perfectly via my PC and OVI Suite (aka PC suite).

I am trying anything and everything!

Today I wiped the mass storage, hard reset, reinstalled 2.00.19, hard reset again, removed the stuff from the front screen. configured my wifi, and went straight to OVI Store...

There is an update...

Pressed Upgrade

I hadn't even re-imported my contacts!

V2 is buggy as hell!

I have managed to get an updated OVI onto it by subterfuge, I faked the HTTP header in firefox to look like the N97 browser and downloaded the sisx with my PC, then used PC Suite to install it onto the phone.

The phone however still cannot download sis or sisx file.

I had the same problem, went to the Download! application (under Applications) and it found, downloaded and installed the Ovi store from there.

I couldn't download it with the phone at all... And of course going to the ovi store on the PC doesn't let you download anything to the PC and install that way...

Unless you're a bit sneaky and use Firefox, install an add-on that can customise the user agent string (which is how the server knows what browser it is talking to), then set that to...

Then the OVI store thinks it is talking to a Nokia browser, I could download the new OVI store .sisx file, and then use the Nokia PC Suite remote installer to get that onto the phone!
