I have latest n8, but not able to access ovi store. If I click on ovi store icon, it asks for installation of new version. But after downloading that, it just wont install. It shows the msg that application is being installed and it may take few minutes. But even after many hours, the same thing persists. Please help

Mine is the same, had the phone for a week now, and still trying but nothing happens.  Like you, I can leave it for hours and it still says it is installing and may take a few minutes.

I'm getting this same thing, where it now installs the ovi store, but just keeps on loading, left it ''loading'' for over a couple hours, but same stage, just loading!

with my N8, every time i click on update now on the ovi store it shows be a white blank page with nothing on it. i've called Nokia and they couldnt do anything to help me

Could be a Qt problem. Where do you see the "Update" option?

Hi, if you can't install OVI in your phone you will not be able to open any link sent by SMS.

Apparently, Nokia don't give much about their long-time loyal customers and leave them out in the cold with software problems that Nokia themselves created. They're too busy following a totally clouded strategy where they introduce new smartphones with dead-end operating systems like MeeGo.

As far as I'm concerned, I've given up on trying to find a solution for the Ovi Store problem (have a Nokia N8 with firmware 14.002 here). If the firmware updates Anna or Belle don't offer a remedy, I will sell the phone and cease using Nokia products after more than one and a half decades.

Nokia were a great mobile phone producer once but they've completely lost it in the past four years. Nowadays Apple, Samsung and HTC offer far superior products, with software that just works and doesn't give the users half as much of a headache than Nokia's.

Two weeks before i Purchsed Nokia E6, I am also having same issue, I made factory reset after that I lost every thing. now i could not install Ovi store. Its downloading software but final message is comming "Could not Install".

Its very said, Nokia is releasing scrap product .

Just an FYI/ Helpful tip for our Symbian friends.

To anyone that has not received the new Ovi Store update or needs to re-download the Ovi Store for any reason, here is the link to the Ovi Store download:

I suggest bookmarking the link on your PC for future use.

After clicking on the link, log into your Ovi Store account and click “Send to Mobile”. After receiveing the text message and clicking it to open the link , the latest Ovi Store will be installed to your phone.

I just reinstalled the store after messing it up with random QT installs.

Even though the picture on the web store shows the S^1 store, the Ovi Installer will download the latest version to your phone. The version number is 2.08.042 and should have a matching number for the Ovi Store installer.

What worked for me was having my phone connected to my computer with Nokia Suite running, I logged in to Ovi Store on my computer browser, following the link in the previous post, and clicking on the "Download via PC" link (even though it was greyed out, it worked). Nokia Suite then went through the process of installing Ovi Store on the phone without a hitch.
