Hi,

I cannot find any solution how to easily delete ALL contacts, calendar & to-do items from OVI account. I know, I can do it one-by-one but having many hundreds of items will last days...

Why I want to do it? - Many months ago I have synchronized my mobile with OVI account. Since then I have organized my stuff only on the mobile (deleted a lot items), and if I synchronize it now, I will have old stuff again on the phone.

Hi,

As you said, you cannot delete all the contacts at one go in Ovi Contacts. Instead you can sync the contacts in the mobile with PC using Nokia PC Suite. Then Delete all the contacts in your device & change the settings in sync (Menu > Tools > Sync) & select Update to server. So that when you Sync with the server, it would be blank with all the contacts being deleted in the handset. Then you can Sync with the Nokia PC Suite to get the contacts. then start a new sync with the Ovi Contacts.

r u sure it works coz for me it dsnt and could it be coz last time is synced to server wid 5800 and now i am syncin wid N85

Yes, you have to specify the phone model you are using on your ovi account. This is so that people who are using two phones may not have overlapping deletions.

I had the same problem where I could not delete the contacts from ovi.com. But there is a better fix than the whole messy saga of deleting from the phone and then from OVI suite on your pc etc...

When you log on to the ovi.com site DO NOT GO to contacts but rather go to mail.

Once you are in mail look at the folders on the left hand side. Just under 'Compose' will be 'Address Book'. Go to 'Address Book' once there you will see that you can delete multiple contacts.

The people at Nokia are quite dumb to have not made it possible to delete multiple contacts by just going to contacts. This solution for deleting multiple contacts was something I accidentally stumbled upon. I sincerely hope this helps others who had the same problem I had.

Wow, this is not the way things has to be done Nokia, this is year 2010, people won't wait for you to solve whatever you mess (this includes me moving from pc suite to ovi ). Thanks pierrerreip, works perfect!

Deleting Contacts: CTRL + ALT + left mouse button - and select up to 30 contacts.

Agree, poor solution to clear the account and re-sync. 

Would be nice to see that this is recognized and being worked on with a feature to reset your account (contacts, calendar, etc) would be implemented.

In case you haven't noticed, you can simply "select up to 30 contacts" by left mouse click.

That is quite annoying still. Holding shift and selecting all the entries between selection A and selection B is a default MUST-HAVE feature, not to speak about some select All feature.

SOLUTION:

Go to Ovi.com --> Mail --> Address book

Tick the box  to the left in the headline (left of Name column) and click Delete button.

You may need to do this more than once if you have many contacts, it marks a max of 200 entries per deletion.

You can hold down shift and click on a contact to select, then move to the last one on the same page holding shift and click on it. Then click on delete selected. (assuming you ar ein thumbnail view)
