ask if it has the newest software version, u may loose files stored in mem card when updating. make sure that it has the latest software version.. thats what i had experienced when my new phone was updated from 10.0 to 21 i lost all media files. (nokia care did the updating)

I always remove my external memory before upgrading my F/W anyway.... just incase. Plus do a backup using the PC suite incase things go bye bye..
