stop car kit mute when charging

hi, I have a N95 connected to a CK-7W car kit via bluetooth and it all works fine. My problem is the radio mutes when the phone notifies me when its charging or when the battery is full. Does anybody know of a way to stop this; its quite annoying when the radio mutes just to tell me the battery status.

Thanks

That's a problem with your stereo rather than your phone, it's an automatic cutout so that say if your phone rings, the stereo will mute. If you take out your car radio and look at the wiring sticker on it, there will be a lead connected saying "Phone" or "Phone Cutout", disconnect it and your stereo should work fine without it.

I had this same problem where the radio mutes for a few seconds when a message appears on the screen saying Battery Full etc.... This is how I got round it, this is for a recent series 60 device, eg. N80, E65. For a Series 40, you'll need to figure that out yourself.

1. Create a new Profile, called "Car Kit"
2. Personalize that profile by setting "Key Pad Tones" and "Warning Tones" to off
3. Settings -> Enhancements -> Car Kit, set the default profile to "Car Kit" or whatever you called it in Step 1.

It should now stop muting the radio when you press a key on the phone or when a message appears. It should also automatically select the "Car Kit" profile when you put your phone in the cradle or connect via bluetooth to the car kit.

If you want you could also enable "lights" under the Enhancements menu to keep the display on and also "Say Callers Name" under the "Car Kit" profile. Doing it this way, means it will only do this for the "Car Kit" profile.

Cheers kraven I'll give it a go but I had already turned off keypad and warning tones in the general profile which was the default profile when connected.

Unfortunately theres no option to have the lights on in 'Wireless car kit' settings in Enhancements, lights is only available as an option under 'Music stand'.

Re: stop car kit mute when charging

I have exactly the same problem as nobel with my N95, I tried the suggestion above creating a dedicated profile, turned all the tones off, set it to the default profile, all that happens now is the phone mutes the radio, no sound comes out, then after a few seconds the sound returns. I have tried this with a SE HBH-30 and now a Parrot mk6100 with the smae results. More irritating is that I run TomTom on my phone and all the directions come throug htmy stereo instead of the phone so I end up muting tomtom in aggrivation

Re: stop car kit mute when charging

The suggested solution works with E65 and N73, but not with N95 8GB, which is why I returned it and stayed with my E65. My guess is that there's no way around this, except for disconnecting the mute. Am I right?
