Hahahaha I knew someone might say that! I'm sorry for caps because i was using my nokia n97 to post this bulletin and it was set to automatic caps (I have no idea why) and everytime I used the shift button I would have to keep pressing it to keep it lowercased.
Thanks again!!! ;D

yes you can. it's not fantastic on my 5800 though, it often closes while i'm using it, or throws up error messages & can't load big images, despite me setting it to 'low quality' image setting. clearing the cache works but only for a short time.
i'm still looking for a suitable browser for it. maybe one day opera mobile will arrive on s60 v5
EDIT try this page opera mobile i have just installed it on 5800. it's not free software but you get free 30 day trial.

i have used Opera Mini for years on my phones. Unfortunetly they havnt got the S60 V5 and/or touch screens down yet. on my N97 and others 5800 it often crashes when scrolling. Hopefully hey will correct it soon.
http://www.skyfire.com/ is almost ready for the N97. They have a Facebook page that will get you replies from someone on the team about issues. It seems like alot of user like it. check it out.

If you need a browser check out the new beta at http://www.digia.com/C2256FEF0043E9C1/0/405001847
Please let me know how it compares to Opera, but for me it's the biz, even in beta!

A word of improvement on the Opera Mini experience on the N97.
Install it to the E: drive instead of to the C: drive.
Opera Mini will crash and exit when it runs out of cache memory.
To fix:
1. Menu->Settings->Application Mgr.->Installed apps.->Opera Mini->Options->Uninstall
2. Go to http://mini.opera.com . Confirm that you have an N97 and then download.
3. On the install screen pay careful attention to the "More details" prompt. Select it and it will allow you to select where to install the application.
If you're not sure where you installed your copy of a program, the Application Mgr. view of Installed apps. will show a little memory card symbol to the right of the name of the application if installed to E: and nothing if installed to C:.
