I have been using the phone for one and a half months now.normally i was getting one day of heavy usage: internet, hd games, video and music.
Two weeks ago I got the phone back from nokia care after a software update.from then I have been having issues. With the same or lesser usage I can now only get 5 hrs before battery goes flat. This problem is very irritating.

what is the solution please help if u can. or is this legible for a replacement?

I would suggest that you need to check that the updated software is not loading up something on your phone in the background that is using battery power.

If not, take it back to the Nokia Care Centre who appear to have caused the problem for you.

How do you check background processes?  I seem to be having the same battery drain issue since the PR1.2 upgrade.

@tangerine i have downloaded app stop from ovi store and u ensure at all times nothing is running in the background.but something fishy..when i got the phone back,all the folders in mass memory were in shortcut form, (similar to once when i had connected the phone to a virus infected comp) but i just ignored and formated the mass memory. Culd this be a problem?

I do not believe it should make any difference to the Battery life of your device, the fact that you have had to reformat the mass memory.

Having said that though, it does appear that your best course of action would be to return it to the repairers if you did not have any such problem before.
