nokia 5800 delivery reports

I am with 02, having read the other comments about 02 network & the 'pending status' shown  in the delivery reports, next to one of the messages i sent it says 2/2 pending, does this mean the message was or wasnt sent?

Re: nokia 5800 delivery reports

I didnt think O2 supported Delivery Reports, unless you did some *# code infront of the SMS .... ?

Re: nokia 5800 delivery reports

From Google :

As O2 do not support SMS delivery reports by just activating the option in message settings here is what you do........

Start a new text message and before you begin type

*0# followed by a space and begin your message, the other person does not see the code but you will get a message back saying when it has been delivered.

Enjoy....S

Re: nokia 5800 delivery reports

Well yeah.. the phones waiting for the delivery report thats its never going to recieve as your network doesnt support it... if you want a delivery report, use the code. Otherwise, shut delivery reports off to stop that message folder filling up.

Re: nokia 5800 delivery reports

i appreciate that and will use the code from now on, but all the other delivery reports just say 'pending' this particular one had 2/2 infront of the word pending.

Re: nokia 5800 delivery reports

Pending means it hasnt been delivered, or the phone has no idea where it is.

2/2 means that the SMS was split over 2 texts, as it was over 180 char's long... and its refering to both pieces :smileyhappy:

Re: nokia 5800 delivery reports

In some cases when the network is too much loaded, you may see the report as pending though actually your message has been already delivered. I once experienced during a festive season that I received a reply saying 'Thanx' from a friend to whome I had sent message for best wishes.. The delivery report still showed 'pending'... Then I contacted my service provider who gave the above clarification..

I still experience this occassionally but yes during festivals when the traffic is excessive...

Re: nokia 5800 delivery reports

Thanks for your concern but even not on festive seasons my phone does it. Every single day it happens. But the bad thing is my messages don't get delivered at all. It always says pending.

Re: nokia 5800 delivery reports

In that case check your Message Center settings... If you want the settings from your service provider then just contact ther Help Line and they will send an SMS containing all settings which you have to just SAVE...
