i just bought my 5800 nt more than just a month.3 weeks smth

n i just realized that a small space on right hand side of my phone , jst above the volume button.

when i hp my on, i saw the light inside the hp. which is coming from the secondary camera .

dust are coming into it, can i get tis change as warranty? its not my fault, i din purposely make it like this.

can anyone help me out of this?

Same same with mine... and my old 5800 that had hardware problems (headphones jack didn't work properly with Nokia headset and speaker also started failing after 8 days) so I had to change it... this is a design flaw and thus unfixable appearantly. So try to live with it like I do every day :-(

I sometimes doubt why I didn't opt for the N85 after all...

But... I seriously think that doubt should vanish along the way... there is more and more 5800 apps every day and when the N97 hits the market I think s60v5 will be the new s60v3 so hang in there 5800 users!!

                   i know this is a little off topic bt please can you tell me what was the exact problem with your headset.. coz i'm too having a problem.. apparently there was no sound in the right headset and i could only hear from the left one..  i went to the care centre and they have taken my headset for replacement..

Well you can compare it with only plugging in a headphones halfway in the jack, I had malformed sound that seemed like it was background only, when I pressed a key it would give digital noise also for some reason. Thats the sound I had with my 5800. Luckily I bought it from Broadway (a HK official distributor of Nokia) so they just entirely replaced my box (phone and headphones) for me.

I am very glad I didn't have to run through Nokia Care because they usually don't replace until things go bad.

A small gap that light shows through is quite normal for the 5800xm.  Most of the ones that I have seen have this tiny gap. Dust cannot get inside your screen through this gap.

If dust is managing to get inside your screen then you do need to visit a nokia care point to get it cleaned and sealed.

We cannot help you here as it's against the rules to discuss disassembly.

My 5800 also has this crack and I don't think a mobile phone should have this kind of failures common or not... I'm taking it to a nokia service point today.

Hi there, my Nokia 5800 also has a gap above the volume button. I've tried to push both sides together tightly using my fingerrs, but it goes back to square one after I let go. I also discovered that I am able to stick my nails into that gap and with little force, that area of the gap becomes bigger, enabling me to see a brown wire mesh when the screen lights are on.

I don't remember having that gap when I got the phone, or it could be because I didn't notice it?

hi guys,

i've had this problem and there is a way of getting it fixed for free. take it to your local nokia service centre and they will resecure a clip within the phone. mine is now perfect.

I've recently noticed this issue & I can actually feel a difference in the tactile feedback from the phone - different areas of the phone give a different feel and it might be because the case isn't as tightly closed/sealed as it should be.  I wonder if I'll have to send the phone back to get it fixed?  There aren't any Nokia care centers within a few hundred miles of my location.
