I need help, urgently. I just got my n97 for 2 week now my alarm not working on a stable condition.

I configure my alarm at 6:30 am for workday (mon-fri) but it never alert me at 6:30 am but at a later time like 6:34 am. So I change it to 6:25 am and it alerted the alarm at 6:30 am, why ??? I configure my timezone at Singapore timezone and time change automatic to on mode. Snooze at 3 minute. Had I left out something. By the way, I set my profile to silent mode. But it should not affect as I used to do that with my old Sony Ericson.

can anyone help me what fix this.

i randomly had my alarm go off later than what it was set to go off, once, and once only. for example I had an alarm set for 6:30, (repeat alarm) and the actual alarm went off at about 6:47 from memory (which is hazy as i was only just awake haha), however the screen showed 6:30 alarm on the screen.

since then I put my phone on charge when i go to sleep and make sure all open applications are closed to free memory.. haven't seen it since.. but one hell of an error. i hate to be in nokias shoes when someone misses an overseas flight because their alarm feature doesn't work.

But my phone has no application running. The battery is on full mode or used only 2 bars, the alarm is still off. Why ? Can anyone help me. By the way, why the time shown on the phone and the time in the memory is different ? Is there a way to synchronize the time in the memory and what i see on the phone ?

This is an old problem from N97,many users had same problem (including me) and there is no way to fix this issue let's just wait and update to firmweare V20 (comming this month) and we will see after.Untill now sit back and relax because you can do nothing

I had this problem last week!  I must say this is the worst phone I have ever had in my life.  Everything takes twice as long to do than other phone because of the stupid menus and time it takes to open applications.

My alarm did not go off at all.  I called my boss who was not pleased at all and gave me an massive **bleep** kicking over the phone.  In complete desperation (as the phone would not switch back on, I was only presented with a white screen with the blue nokia logo) I had to hard reset the phone (3 finger solute). 

 I was told this was an issue with the firmware so I HAD to get the new firmware on the phone.  3 UK were still on version 11.x.x and I knew version 20.x.x was available so I debranded my phone.  I am not on version 20.x.x.x and I still have the problem.  Luckily my other half is getting up the same time as me this week and her alarm went off the other day and my alarm did not sound at all.  I powered on the phone which took around 5 attempts (when i pressed the power key it vibrated and the screen went white, then did nothing and switched off)  and no alarm sounded. 

THIS IS MY LAST ATTEMPT!

Someone mentioned that if you switch the phone to automatically update the date/time it will sort the problem.  I have done this but if the phone does not sound the alarm again this week the phone can go back to Nokia and I will take them to court if they do not clear/pay for my contract with 3 as I am moving to another network.  This phone is full of bugs, nobody seems to be bothered to fix them, Nokia are bringing out the N900 and seem to be spending all of their time on that.  I am going to buy a sony with a windows mobile O/S or something with the android O/S by HTC.

I get this all the time. Still happens on the (crummy) firmware 2.x

It often (though not always) sounds the alarm between 4-6 minutes 'late'. It's not a problem since I press snooze about 5 times before I get out of bed, but still totally unacceptable really.

This late alarm is a 'feature' of the 5800XM firmware version 30 and 31 too.

All we can do is keep flagging it up to Nokia and hope it will receive attention in future updates. If you're worried you'll forget to get in contact with Nokia about this, why not set an alarm on your phone
