Hi

I have only recently had my n97. When i go to shut it down i press switch off and the phone begins to close but then shows random menus before shutting down like the message menu, my contacts menu, etc. etc. They appear for a couple of seconds and then the phone shuts down??

Has anybody else had this? I'm curious to know what is causing it and if it's a problem?

This happens to me on occasions.  I don't recall having it happen when I was running the 10.x firmware, only since I upgraded to v11.  I just ignore it.  With any luck it's a minor bug that will be fixed in v12.

So do not worry, you are not alone!

I'm not even sure it is a bug. To me it looks like applications pop up on the screen when they are about to be terminated. Nothing that I would worry about.

hey matt sorry to correct you but v12 has been out for a month almost. so it shuld be v13 n u will be lucky to get ur problem sorted out, and even if u gt ur problem sorted out you will encounter another problem.

v12 hasn't been released to all handsets yet (mine included) hence my comment about it being present in v11 and hoping v12 may fix it as I don't have it yet.

You're talking tasks that aren't running at the time I happen to shut the device down though.  ie Browser and contacts are not running when I shut down but they'll be amongst those that flash up on-screen.  But like I said in my initial post, it's no biggie.

correct, not all regions of the world have received their updates to v12.....yet. hopefully any moment now but it still has not happened. and if anything it would be something like v20 or v30 joking about v30....but v20 or close is very likely in the mid sept.

I see v12.x finally made it to the Nokia software update news site so I hope to see it soon.  I remember it was shortly after news of v11 was posted that it became available for my model.
