My phone is on 3 (UK) and was running V11, i never really had many problems it, hardly ever crashed, dropped maybe 3 or 4 calls in as many months (that was probley 3's fault)

The only bugs that i really got were the nokia tune bug and the annoying bug where your favorite contacts widgets didnt load the pictures causing me to restart the phone 2 or 3 times until they loaded up

since updating to to V20 the picture bug is fixed and i have not had the nokia tune offend my ears yet. the phone is now much faster, kinetic scrolling is wicked as i have over 3000 songs and 600 photos on the phone and finding the one i wanted used to be hard work on V11

I backed up my phone using the content copier and hard reset it, then i updated to V20

I dont know how many people on here did a hard reset on there handset before they updated but i dont think many of them did as they are all complaining about the same bugs.

hard reset can be done when the phone is turned off by holding  shift, space, delete on the keyboard and turning the phone back on holding said button down for about a further 5 second (hard reseting dose not wipe your mass memory, all your music and stuff will still be on there)

Then update via NSU,  this is what i did and my phone works perfectly,  good job Nokia

as for my getting V20 on a 3(UK) N97, thats another story.

I am interested to know what other bugs people have found,  and have you tried re-installing the update incase you got a bad install, If it happens when installing windows i am sure it can happen with phone operating systems from time to time.

Can you assign a time interval to autolock your keypad? I don't think so. It's a new bug after updating to V20 !!!!!!!!

I didn't do a hard reset before my update and it went fine.  I think it's pot luck whether it works or doesn't to be honest.  The nature of bugs are that they're often erratic and may not show for everyone, or even all the time for the same user.  A prime example here is the handset freezing after taking a call if the phone is locked.  using the green arrow to swipe and answer will sometimes lock the handset on the call screen.  It has been discussed on here by many users and I had it myself once earlier, but not again yet.

How is it pot luck? If it were indeed "pot luck" you'd think there'd be many thousands of users on this forum right now with bricked N97's or N97's that perform worse etc. People who are getting great use out of their N97 are hardly going to come onto a support forum to tell others how good their n97 is.

never noticed that. Not that I really care. My screen times out after one min, which is what I had it set on before I updated anyway, so it looks like the setting are now 1 min or not at all in the menu.. So we are missing the 30 second option, that is not what I would call a bug to be honest, looks like it was changed on purpose

sorry to go on about it.. just downloand "Mr Lock" from the ovi store. its free and you can custom your keypad lock down to the second and also have the phone not lock during certain times. like when your using the music player in the car which is highly annoying
