You can transfer music from your computer via usb, I use ripped music in mp3 format from CD's and sometimes 'obtain' tracks from the internet, or you could open an Ovi Music account, where you sometimes get free tracks. Basically, if you have music on your computer , you can put it on your phone, actually downloading onto the phone is quite slow. Also try Mobbler, or YouTube !
