iv finaly managed to dwnload maps on my 5800,on start up the voice gives one command then says buy liscence,how do i overcome this?its says my liscence expired and when i upadte it gives me the price...any help appreciated im not great with technology

iv done all that,the maps and sat navs on its just saying liscence out of date and purchase new,i had a right hassle getting it on but did eventualy its just the liscence im trying to sort,im going to minehaed friday so it would be handy to have sorted by then,thanks for your response..

Are you sure you are on 3.03? How does the homscreen of the map looks like? Is it like a blue world map with icons?

You obviously haven't 'done all that' as the latest version doesn't require a licence it's FREE. Try going to Nokia maps on your phone browser, you will have a choice of 3 versions to download direct to your phone, choose the version compatible withh 5800.

yes its blue,i have followed everything on nokia maps i thinks it all ok apart from the voice navigation which is saying buy liscence,i think the problem may be that i used the trial when i bought the phone so its showing an expired liscence so im going to back up my contents then do a factory reset and see if that solves it....ill let you know

Did you delete the old maps before installing?

have u tried uninstalling then installing Ovi maps ?

Try going onto Menu -> Applications -> SW Update

It should list Maps with free navigation in the list. Download and install that and everything should be sorted

version 30.0.011 custom version 30.0.011.441.04 .all it does is says navigation is a premium service buy liscence now.its a newer version than i managed to get before but still wont work right

you must have firmware 31.0.008 to install free ovi maps

checked that thanks,it wont let me update tho so i guess im one ov the unlucky people who cant get it then

just wait till they release the official firmware for your PRODUCT CODE

Just a thought i am having the same trouble is it anything to do with having license manager installed version 6.22.5.If i uninstall this will it solve the problem.

It's certainly worth a try. Licence manager will be re-installed with the latest maps so there's no harm in trying.

To get maps with free navigation you need a compatible phone, with the latest software update, You download it from the Nokia website NOT through Nokia Maps Updater (that will download the actual maps to your phones hard drive or memory card) or through the software update app in your applications folder in your phones menu. Using either source, you download direct to the phone, and it installs on C. This will provide Maps with FREE navigation. All the relative info is on the Nokia web site.

Yes that solved the problem,Ovi suite told me there was an update for maps,so downloaded it i had my phone connected via usb.Thats when it went wrong, just used the web site giving my phone number,Nokia sms you a link i used the browser on my phone to down load maps.

Installed and solved the problem for me.
