hi
download SIP_VoIP_3_1_Settings_v2_0_en.sis
use siscontent to extract included sis packages and use the one without (1) in name ! it is nokia signed - so it installs without dev cert !
with that it works!
for gprs to work you need to enable it within net-settings - advanced voip settings !
ciao
ps: nokia mods - pls do not del this post !

The reply from Nokia above just goes to illustrate everyones frustration! What a terrible response, how about they come out and tell us how to enable VOIP properly instead of the few hacks here using 4 year old SIS files.
It really would be a nice change if a Nokia tech came on here and gave us a proper response instead of this silence that is neither helpful to us - nor Nokias future sales.

RASMUS:
thanks for the link.
have you tried your n97 ViOP on 3G ?
can you receive calls on Wifi ?
30-Oct-2009 05:55 PM
Yes I can do calls over 3G and Wifi (have not tested edge) - and the app has been running for 24 hours and i still get calls in so that means the STUN server is doing its thing.
Another thing I have noticed is that the phone seems to switch from 3G to WiFi seamlessly which is nice.
All in all I am SUPER happy with this implementation, and I think there are a few other that have got it working the same - I did exactly stated as in the guide.

I've got my voip working using the sip configuration instructions from wink streaming, however after 45-50 seconds into my outgoing call, it automatically disconnects. Is there a setting that I need to change to increase some refresh interval? I didn't think that for outgoing calls I would need to adjust any of the stun parameters. Please advise, as I am nearly there, but not quite. Thanks.

Hi guys, I have Sip working just fine on my n97, but one problem still gets me. when I make a voip call, I can't hear it ringing the other side. I can talk fine, but it's like silence until someone talks at the other side, no indication that it's ringing. What could be the reason?

If i had to take a stab I would say that it is likley the sound file that your VoIP provider is using is outside of the frequency of the codec that you are using.
In short - it is likely their issue, not yours.

Did anybody end up with a firmware that contained the legit SIP client for the N97 that Nokia makes mention in their user manual?
From all my searching the web to date, this package does not exist?

Actually, I just found that Nokia released a SIP VoIP Settings application for S60 v5 phones on the 26th Nov:

Hey guys,
I did the setup following the "wink"-streaming guide and even installed the new internet_settings.sis for touchscreen.
I am able to connect to the voip-server (it says "signed in" in the voip-setting which is confirmed on the homepage of my sip-provider).
Unfortunatly I am not able to sign in into my account (contacts/globe icon/log in) nothing happens if I do that.
Anyone an idea what I did wrong? Thank you very much for your help!

It work perfectly on N97 but not on 5800,who can release such a patch for 5800 to enable the sip voip call ?

I've got a N97 mini and installed the new software from Nokia (SIP_VoIP_3_1_Settings_S60_5_x_v1_0_en.sis). And I tried to connect to my account at voipdiscount.com. After I set my connection details, I always get an error "login failed". Is there a possibility to get some more descriptive error/debug messages, so that I get a feeling what went wrong?
Thanks in advance
