As far as I know, N8 isn't available to play .flv files by itself...I wonder how you had been able to do that.Only the browsers built in flash player allows you to watch videos in the web wich are mostly in flash viedo format![]()
Still, there could be some player I don't know of that might be able to play .flv files ![]()

Symbian phones have been able to play standalone FLV videos since the 5800....
Adobe Flash Lite player is used. But it's broken in Belle, sadly. All my FLVs are now useless.... Nokia, you're on a fix?

yea ...I was devastated and thinking of reset to factory settings and not update because of the .FLV problem ...Its the main format I used to play on my phone cause Ive been downloading youtube videos - then its also great for the TV in hotel rooms etc...
PLEASE FIX .FLV (flash lite)
(files start but then dont play)

Hi Guys,
This is taken directly from the Nokia Belle FAQ:
After the update to Nokia Belle I can't play some .flv flash files or .mkv video files anymore. What should I do?
We are currently investigating the issue and will share a solution as soon as possible.
This issue is something we are aware off and as soon as fix is available it will be shared. Until then just hang tight!
We are on it!

Sorry, March 16 already. I do not see the solution. Before the Belle upgrade I could watch a full HD 1080p flv, but now I could not watch even the most ordinary video</br>And the standard player still does not support 1080p Why so? CPU performance is more than is necessary to watch 1080p mkv

Hi Duke,
I use a Nokia 603 which comes with Belle. I like to share few info that needs to be rectified with Belle or Nokia 603 Model.
1. I was really impressed with 16:9 display and HD Playback but I had difficulty in palying out MKV files. Very few MKV files play without audio output and other MKV files doesnt play at all.
2. Also, it could not play certain .mp4 files and .avi files
3.Am not sure whether the TV Out option is there or not. But it was mentioned on the specifiations when the phone was released. That is one of the reason for buying that phone.
4. There are no screensavers apps available for symbian belle
5. In 603, the absence of flash is really disappointing and the the menu key in middle of call buttons is not that much comfortable to use.
Thanks for addressing the .flv issue. Its been really tough without flv files because most of the online downloads are mainly on flv formats.
Thanks,
Vikranth

when I updated my nokia N8 to symbian belle, I expected that playing rmvb format will be more smooth, no lag... the bad news was that after updating to belle the flv files almost not working.. I know that Nokia is notified, searching for a solution .... but, more than a month passed with nothing denoting that Nokia is caring

well.. i think they are bringing in the Dolby Digital feature in the update pack and i hope that could solve this problem..but i dnt know wat are the video formats that can play in 603..because certain mkv files play clearly...some play without audio..some do not..also many of the mp4 files play without video or audio...flv files dont get played. divx/xvid wont play....am really confused..because all these formats play in N8..even flv files play in my friend's N8 with symbian Belle...Please find a solution for this before you launch any other update.
