I have recently updated my n97 to v12.xx...but to my disappointment flash lite 3.1 is still not working in the device ....i cant access so many videos online due to this problem...is thr any solution to this ?

I too AM HAVING THE PROBLEM. WHEVER I TRY N WATCH NEWS ITS SAYS THE VIDEO PLAYER REQUIRES FLASH PLAYER AND JAVASCRIPT  ENABLED. ITS REALLY FRUSTRATING. WASNT N97 FLASH ENABLED SO HOW CME ALL THIS PROBLEMS. NYHELP

I have a small question, How do you know that flash light it installed on your  N97 & what website you can access to verify its functionality?

Ugh - Thank goodness I'm not the only one with this problem!!!!!

I was under the impression that the N97 comes with flash - it says so in the specs. But whenever I try to watch any flash content on a web site, I either get the flash icon (like when you need flash) or I get a message that Java script needs to be enabled. What the?

Come on u guys, which phone allows it play youtube on the desktop version...

Only the N97... Cheer up.. Its just that the flash support is not that sophisicated and youtube supports lousy flash..

Just count urself lucky to open simple flash, like ads.. at least better than the iphone cant even open the youtube desktop version, dun even think about flash ads..

well i do acknowlege that it s able to show youtube videos and sme flash videos while browising. but however most of the videos are of latest flash hence you cant watch them. and as they had claimed that n97 will change how people browse on their phones

firechaos, go here on your N97: http://www.family-secrets.net/episode-1.html and tell me if you can see any of the web content on your N97 - it aint working. On my old N95 I could watch flash content (no, not youtube, others) without any hassles. So what's wrong with the N97?

I just want to be able to play the games on Facebook - like the iPhone can.

The iPhone uses a dedicated application to access facebook.  It has no flash support at all, which is worse off than the N97.

but the mrs keeps winning all the games

and the FB app that i have on the phone keeps returning script error and i cant unin/reinstall it.

so is it a limitation on flash lite or the browser? cos i have thesame prob in Opra 5 beta and as i type im looking round adobe for any updates.

anyone know how to check the version of FL installed?

hey all, well d flash content did work with n97 with version10.x...but after  d firmware updates it has stopped working completely..i can see one person saying tht youtube desktop version works...but it doesnt in my case..it just shows a  broken flash link..nd other flash videos asks 2 enamble java script..download flash player..n what not..seriously pathetic from nokia..they r busy 2 bring d kinetic scrolling in v2..but will they bring in flash lite 3.1 ?it will always remain a mystery..and given d nokia trend abt thr contumers..I doubt they will..

Honestly I can open some sites with Flash easily using my N97.. Some sites, however, do not work... I don't know the reason behind that.. Could it be that it's Flash Lite, not full Flash.. I really don't know... To my memory, I did not face such an issue with my previous N95-8GB mobile.. things were so easy then.. I hope the new firmware solve such an issue.. Hope we won't wait long...

Flash lite is installed on your phone by default. However some video's (especially those streamed from the internet) are in Flash 10 which cannot be supported on a mobile device. I'm afraid it's trial and error as to which sites will play flash and which are in a newer version.

During the time when the n97 was in v11, the flash content in the web was at flash 9, hence it was supported. But later down the line when flash content migrated to flash 10....well, we have to wait for adobe to make a plug in for mobile flash 10. As for browsers, AFAIK Opera MOBILE 10 and Skyfire has better flash support than the native browser.
