i find this very common among my friends with the N97 , the phone doesn't connect to the computer using pc suite , always detecting new hardware and something with the MTP device .

and NO this is not a cable problem (tried different cables) , not a computer or an OS problem (tried different ones) .

and to complete it all , the device software updater doesn't detect the new software update , so i can't update to version 2 .

i guess i paid money to beta test nokia's N97..

 another problem is the lens scratches .

this will be my last nokia for sure ..

any solutions to any problems ?

Did you try reinstall the pc suite? the cable driver is with it.

You could update the firmware over the air using wifi.

i reinstalled pc suite , tried ovi suite ( the one that came with the N97 and the latest version) , changed cables, i even tried the pc suite special edition for the N series that came along with the N96 (i bought my father a N96) .

and the device software update doesn't detect any new updates ! so i can' update through wifi .

do you mean that i can connect my mobile to the pc via wifi?
