To all users of N Series Phones.

[ Edited ]
Hi all,

I thought i'd voice my opinion here over this forum because I can't be bothered to contact a moderator relating this issue.

If you have MULTIPLE questions, please put it in one thread, people don't want to have to shuffle through 10 or so threads of the same questions you want to ask.

Also, do not use all caps. No one wants to help a shouter.

If you don't get an answer, don't keep posting thread after thread. Go and use GOOGLE as someone here might not be able to answer your question.

Edit: Also, for your own safety and benifit, don't post your email address publically as this will earn you a quick full inbox of spam.

Edit2: Also please don't post your IEMI number into the forums as it doesn't take much for someone to phone up and say "oh my phone has been stolen, the IEMI number is.."

I'm sure many people in here will agree, and probably a lot more who'll disagree but I thought i'd speak out.

Thanks.

And also the IMEI.
As tehrules just speak out what the mods do (the lazy bears in the bunkers are having weekend) I think tehrules's guidelines should be sticky on the top of the board by a moderator and admins.

Thing is this is a mass forum not like good community advanced tech forum,:smileywink: so misdeeds are expected, but should be minimized.

Well said tehrules!

People need to learn how to search. Most questions have been answered before.

I'm sick of seeing all the "which phone should I buy?" topics. The simple answer is read some reviews!

If you don't like the answers you get here then go and ask your question someplace else! Do not ask them again and again!

Best option would be ignore the spammer. I think we should have a button to ignore user who spam so that his posts are not seen and the user notified that he has been ignored for spamming. How is that :smileyhappy:

Re: To all users of N Series Phones.

There needs to be a way of telling a moderator without having to do the whole "Report Post" thing or something really.

As for phones, I personally if somone says.. I'm looking to get X phone, what is it like? I'd give some feed back as I would be an everyday user of the phone which some reviews don't cover in that aspect.

The "What phone should I get?" questions lie down purely to personal choice, and reading reviews of several phones would be the easiest solution for anyone, instead of posing the question and everyone getting totally confuzzled to what the user wants to do with their phone. Someone like me who likes gadgits, the N82 is my dream.

This has just given me an idea to start a community however dedicated to just users reviews and opinions. A one stop place in a sense where people can express what they feel about their phone, without just having one review on the site for that model.

Re: To all users of N Series Phones.

Another thing that will make life easier for people wanting help is to use a meaningful subject.

Many of the newbies who post here create topics with a subject which, once you've removed the 300 exlamation marks and various smileys and other superfluous punctuation marks, is basically "help". This is not helpful in the least because different forum members have different strong points, and since there are only 24 hours in a day they have to pick and choose which queries they're going to respond to. They're therefore only going to gloss over generic-looking stuff and only really look at queries evidently within their field of expertise.

In short, help others to help you by choosing a subject that actually describes the problem you're having.

tehrules, take a look at this user review site:

It's a good site for user opinions but you still get the occasional pointless posts from clueless muppets.

Its certainly something to maybe start recommending to users on here :smileyhappy:

It covers quite a huge range of phones which is a good start, so that is helpful :smileyhappy:!

Re: To all users of N Series Phones.

I don't think its fair to call someone a Muppet just because they asked a question that has already been asked or because they don't have structure to their post.

Are you guys being paid to be on here or volunteering?

Either you are being paid, in which case its your job to go through the posts, so stop taking it out on the "newbies",
or you are volunteering, in which case you are volunteering, no one is putting a gun to your head to do it.

I think it would serve everyone better if you guys made your suggestions about searching and structure without putting down the people you are supposed to be trying to help.

Re: To all users of N Series Phones.

needtogetfit, did you even look at that site before you got all wound up?

I was not referring to the users of this site as muppets, I was talking about the site on my link. The people on there who are muppets are the ones that make a pointless short post to say a phone is bad when they've never even seen or used one.

I do not think of the people who post genuine problems on this site as muppets. Although every site has it's fair share of them, especially the ones who over-react :smileywink:

Psycho, not wound up at all, perfectly calm, and certainly did not over react. Although you are the one who used the term muppet, I did not mean to direct the whole blame at you.

The overall tone of the post is not the best, thats all.

Re: To all users of N Series Phones.

My inital intention of this post was to express how there is so much stuff posted in this forum that has either been answered before, or the fact that users post multiple topics that are really unnecessary.

It was also designed as a guide for users to protect their security while using these forums as there have been users who say "email me" and posting their IEMI numbers.
