I would like to use my N8 for the internet connection for my ipad2. Is it possible to tether the N8 to an Ipad2 via bluetooth. The Ipad will recognise the N8 but won't pair with it.

You cannot tether via BT. But you can wifi tether with Joikuspot. Works very well, even Facetime over 3G.
