Has anyone confirmed that the no video/TV output is either 1) a temporary issue that happened for a short period of time (I read August 2009) or 2)

Yes numerous posts on the subject   .

 

5800 XM  sold as not TV Out  as well as TV Out   likewise 5800 XM Comes With Music and Does Not Come With Music .

 

Dell are the ones that may have sold you a phone not as described and its them you should be going back to  .

Yo.!

       My Nokia N79 has a TV-out (PAL/NTSC) with CA-75U cable. I Bought this phone last august 2009, So the price cut still not applied to it hehehe..

i found a quick and easy solution...i gave my nokia away and bought a sony ericsson vivaz, i will never buy another nokia as long as i live, they lied, cheated and stole my money through false advertising. good luck in the future but sony at least supplies you with the advertised product
