Still Love Nokia's hardware...

Yup,

Symbian might be falling behind, the Ovi App store might be lacking....

But I love the hardware on my Nokia's.    My N8 - the camera is still amazing compared to others.  I love the metal body - i have no cracks and it can handle a fall.  My buddies - who mostly have Iphones or Samsungs have cracks, or are on phone number 3 or four due to hardware failure.

The N9 looks beautiful.....please keep Meego alive......I would to have a future Meego phone on solid hardware....

I agree perfectly with you! That's why I'm not so brave to change brand!

Re: Still Love Nokia's hardware...

I recently tested the durability by misstake :smileyhappy:

Just got my new Nokia N9 ...

had it unpacked for about 10 minutes, then i dropepd out of my shirt pocket,

from a height of about 1.5 meters...straight down...with screen flat first into a stone bathroom floor.

...picked it up, not a scratch .. *LoL*  funny thing is that I'm so used to Nokia quality that i wasnt even worried. :smileyhappy:

..but the durability doesn't have any bearing if you have bad luck. My Nokia 6110 Navigator had fallen from height of about 30 cms (1')....and went dead. Nokia Care said..the Mother Board has cracked and nothing can be done.

Sorry to hear that ... well yes, there is always the Luck part of everything ... :/

I once launched my Nokia N95 2.5 meters up in the air and landed on asphalt a few meters away.  Still worked a charm  (even after that violent landing ... the call I was on was actually still active )

(I was talking on the phone (not using a headset), lighting a cigarette, while out walking, and trying to find something from a bag at the same time ... when shifting hands holding the phone I tripped a bit and accidentally threw the phone up in the air  *lol*  yes I am a klutz ..

Sure got some scratch marks on the phone  but that darn phone still works today.. :smileyhappy:

had to replace the battery cover a couple of times...but considering the trashing that phone took though out several years ... that is a small price to pay   he he

Bad luck is what is was...sorry to hear that.
I just watched a 2 month old Samsung die for no reason. Talked to the sales rep - apparently that is common.....

Re: Still Love Nokia's hardware...

Luck definitely has a part in it but I love the fact that my heart doesn't have to stop when I see my phone fall. My N8 fell 3 times in the 8 months that I have owned it on the last two occasions I just watched the thing fall picked it up and carried on as usual.

The worst though is when i was drunk the other day. I managed to pour some hunter's extreme into the pocket I keep my phone in. I think it was about half the can that went straight into the pocket. I think the only reason the phone survived is that it was off(dead battery)

It's been over a month now and she's still working perfectly
