Re: Sound Quality - Softwere

@Neversmile - yes the SE w995 is actually worth the $400 you pay for it. At around the same price, the e75 offers what? Mediocre sound quality, mediocre 3.2mp camera, and well, standard nokia e-series features, but great OS. The w995 offers you the wonderful SE hardware quality, a gorgeous full feature 8mp camera and top of the line SE sound quality. It may not be a smartphone but it does deliver in the hardware department against a lot of the phones you can throw at it at the same price.

Anyway, I am suddenly wondering, what is the bitrate of the mp3 files you are playing? I remember that there are various mp3 compression bitrates, and each one having different audio quality. These bitrates range from between 48kbps to 300++kbps, with the smaller bitrate having worse quality.

Re: Sound Quality - Softwere

hey!!! i had a W960i first, it was my first mobile. Good sensitive touch, very good music, 8GB and all the other features. You can even install .exe FILES IN IT! Thats the best!(only some programs work).made of good material.
but when my w960i broke after 2years of heavy use. my father got me a N97 but damn it sucks soo Much , cheap plastic (will give this one an excuse cuz its lighter and more enviromentally friendy + durable) but omg whats wrong with the touch??? IT SUCKS THE TOUCH IS USELESS not sensetive at all, AND MUSIC USELESS, and when at full volume (hardly anything) i hear unwanted glitchy sounds like when ur playing a song from a USB and u sudenly remove the USB, and **bleep**? 32gb? i can only use like 4gb or the mobile is stuck and need hardreset.

i wish i hadnt come into the Nokia world i wish my SE never broke

Phones Owned : w960i N97. My Name Deosn't Realy Mean It

all i know about SE is that they made in very high quality, wat better then Nokia... and also veery expencive...

about N97 materials... well yea, after using SE it'll probably seem cheap and **bleep**, at least it's not heavy... the touch screen.. i donno what ur sE had.. but i had an iphone, and yea it was hard to get used to nokia touch screen, it works diffrent.. about the glitching.. i hear some weird **bleep** on my 5530 sometimes... like rly short glitches.. it's rare but i heard them...

what do u think of Sound quality?? (not volume) how does metal/rock sounds compare to SE??

at least you got N-GAGE >< can play quakes and stuff.. i got ***teeet*** yp with my 5530 in sound quality, and even no good games... so the touch screen not only **bleep**, it's although useless... the only good thing, is that i can watch movies and stuff.... and surffing the Net seems fun with that screen....

Re: Sound Quality - Softwere

@Neversmile - of your not impressed with the w995 camera, then i doubt any other phone camera would be able to impress you. There are less number of phones than the fingers on my hands with better camera than the w995. Even if the w995's camera is fail beside a digicam, it still rules among phone cameras. Also, if you cringe about that on the w995, its the same price as an n86 and very similar. The only difference is that n86 has better software and w995 has better hardware. And since their at the same price, its just like a trade off.

Anyway, based on your comments, I have concluded that no phone would really get you on high. No phone could equal the quality you demand of it at the price you demand. A PC of course will have better audio than a phone, but then again did you consider the hardware comparison? If an SE camphone cannot impress you, nothing will. If you want to have PC quality audio on a phone, you'll have to wait a long time for it, or get an Omnia HD, and it still doesnt come close to PC audio quality. The 5530's audio is great, FOR A PHONE OF ITS SIZE AND PRICE. When you read a review that says a phone is great, it is being compared to other phones of the same price range and size. They dont say its great compared to a PC or an actual music system. Comparing such this is retarded. As I mentioned before, the best audio quality you can find on a phone can actually only compare to lower tier to mid range dedicated mp3s. They cant even begin to compare in quality to a Philips Go Gear.

For the quality you are asking for in a phone, I doubt it will exist in this year or the next.

Re: Sound Quality - Softwere

"For the quality you are asking for in a phone, I doubt it will exist in this year or the next" dont **bleep**, my 5 years old 30$ mp3 sounds good enough, i bet in china it's ~ 2$ i bet nokia could make a good player in it today.

SE - not smartphone - borring, ive seen the reviews, ppl got nothing to say.. just.. :camera... player...end.... the thing about camera, if u donno thng about em, then shut up, if the camera itself's small, it doesnt metters how many megapixels there are, the pictures wont be better then big camera's pictures with even 5 megapixels, so it's a ripoff to pay 400$ for it, same as all SE, n86 is a smartphone >.>"

Nokia - sounds like **bleep**, and i doubt that my 5 years old 30$ MP3 is better then "lower tier to mid range dedicated mp3s"

all i asked: good sound quality and dont **bleep**, nokia could put a good sound quality in their phones, if they werent so greedy, good camera, and a reasonable price............... SE - not smart, 2 expencive (today) Nokia - **bleep** sound quality.
