it was not until recent when it struck to me how bad my lens was damaged because of the slider, has anyone got thier camera cover/lens replaced?

Ur comments are greatly apriciated and admired please contribute my adding in your suggestions/facts

Care points have been instructed to replace the lens covers of any affected phone that is covered by a valid warranty.

Give your nearest a call for more info.

I do know that my nearest NCP is replacing them but I have not needed to do mine as it's unscratched.

so nokia will replace the damaged lens for free but will not fix the slider? well thats enuf for me. i just wanna confirm. will i have to  pay

I'm not entirely sure if they they change both or not.  I believe the new lens is slightly set in so that it does not make contact with the slider.  If the slider is found to be damaged too they will replace it but only if it's damage relating to this issue.

A nokia care point could answer that for you, give your nearest a call.

aphh i just wanna know if they will chabge or not. either yes or no. i am forever grateful to you because ur replies helped me alot i am extremely srry i cannot add kudos but the n97 deos not allow me to open that page

ONLY the care point can tell you for sure if they will charge for this issue if you don't have a warranty.  It is impossible to tell you here as different places have different policies.  

Personally I believe that they will charge but obviously cannot say for sure.

hey i am soo srry it seems i have bothered u, but my question is still not answered but i will not bother you anymore, i greatly apriciate your time and effort taken to answer my repeative questions. i'm a kid of age 14 and therefore i need to be 100% sure that Nokia will change the lens if i pay ( i do not care about the money), thankyou for understanding my problem

To get the question answered call or visit your nearest care point.  If you feel that they will not help you because of your age then ask an older friend or relative to ask for you.
