I like to know the experiences of other N97 users who had to repair their mobile.
I brought my N97 7th August to a Nokia Care Centre (KPN Amsterdam Zuid-Oost) and is still being under repair... after many phone calls to Nokia Care and KPN Nokia Care Centre a lot of different and inconsistent answers made me very annoyed. Just bought the N97 to be one of the first to play and discover the technique but now it is almost old…
If you have experience with the repair centre of Nokia, please share this with me.

If they sent it back without attempting to repair it, then they should have given you a reason. Had you perhaps already done something that you can't say here for the fear that the post will be removed? Did you take up the issue with Nokia Care by phone?
You have to remember that virtually no electronics manufacturer has its own repair network in every country, they are invariably third-party contractors, so you should have at least followed up on this. Too many people come to cry on forums full of other consumers before they've properly concluded the issue with the manufacturer of the item, which would be a more productive course of action...

They said that my phone was physically damaged or dropped. NOT TRUE!! I just phoned nokia care... waste of time... there will be "special" investigation and AGAIN I have to send it to nokia care... This is just getting better now... I bought phone in july, I'm a second month without fully working phone for £500!! Like many other people, I was never so active on nokia forums untill N97 came up. Just great!

I have had MASSIVE problems dealing with Nokia here in the US. I've sent my N97 to them 7 times, 3 times for the same issue which they never fix. Does anybody else have the following issues:
1) When i hook my N97 up to my BT Car Kit, run Maps, and run Music player, the navigation severely lags, drops the connection multiple times, re-routs in the the middle of navigation. I can't tell you how many times it told me to turn on a street that wasn't there.
2) When i scroll the the music playlist, the kinetic scrolling slows to a stop then jumps back to the beginning of the list again. Could be considered a minor inconvenience, but it defeats the purpose of kinetic scrolling; why have the feature if it cannot be used?
Nokia has me on record for sending in my device 6 times. the 7th time they told me i could ask for it to be replaced again, but to send in my device first. since it's important for me to have a phone i asked them to ship me one first, given the massive hassle i've had with customer service. they would not do it. So i sent my phone with the 2-Day Air shipping label they gave me and it took 10 days to get there.
I've talked to Customer Care, and those people either keep you on hold, hang up on you, or lie to you. I've called the Service Recovery team and they are more concerned with how i got their number rather than helping a long time customer, and I've called the actual repair center; there seems to be no communication between them and nokia.
Anybody else in the US having these issues?
Can someone give me unbiased advice as to why i should continue to support nokia, after the hassle with them that has made me physically sick from the stress?
Thanks.

Hi,
Both are common problems...
For the loss of GPS and lacking behind is something I had as well, for me it worked fine when I disconnected the power supply, then it is becoming quite accurate... and where I drive for a long straight road I connect the power supply again...
For the music player it does this only for the first song... after that the kinetic scrolling is working fine...
I do have the same experience, the Nokia carecentres and Nokia do not commnicate... :-(
It seems to be that Nokia do not care for the N97 users... my next phone will be probably an Android type... will miss the great camera though...

Hi
Using n97 mini for 9 months now I can share with you my immense frustration. In fact despite the camera which is cool the only feature that I appreciate is the numeric touchpad used when typing pin code or dialing straight number. limited isn't it ? My phone has a very bad reception. I have sent it to Nokia and it took them 6 weeks to send it back stating "it is working fine now'. Impossible to know whether they have done something or not. I still have the exact same problem. This phone is so buggy that sometimes it makes me laugh alone. Hopefully I got a new HTC Android phone and N97 experience is now a nightmare that belongs to the past. It' a pity I have had 11 Nokia phones before. The 12th will be the mast I swear. I'll miss the python programming interface which is really brilliant.
