Removal of Memory Card

If the memory card is removed from the phone does it give a message that the card has been removed?

Re: Removal of Memory Card

if you want to remove the memory card while the phone is on, it's better that you go to settings->data mgr->memory->options->remove memory card. doing it this way is safer, since it will allow time for applications running from memory card to close properly.
removing the memory card while the phone is off is no problem.

a phone that has no memory card in will work fine but you will notice that the applications you used to have and are installed on the card are no longer available to you. and all installations and savings will go phone memory.

Hi,
When you remove the Memory card from your phone,it
dosen't give a notice of removal. But however,if you
click on its icon, afterward, the page will say
"No Memory card inserted".
Cheers.

Re: Removal of Memory Card

Hi sanjayt

In fact, it depends which phone you have. In some you will see nothing; in others (eg more recent Nseries devices) you will see a message. If there is an application open which is using the memory card, a message will appear "Closing applications" followed by the instruction "Remove memory card and press OK".

The safest thing to do is to do a short press of the Power key, scroll down to "Remove memory card" and select that. This safely closes the appropriate apps and makes the memory card ready for removal.
