Hi all

Just want to say to Nokia that even though I've had my fair share of frustrations with my N97, I still love the way the phone was designed and would very much like to see it revamped/updated or brought up to speed with new hardware, OS and a face lift

It would be a shame not to continue with that form factor, in my view is the best on the market by miles.

So basically that's equivalent to a new phone. Wait for the next phone to be released with S^3...^_^

Yeah it's bacally a new phone but keeping the N97 form factor.

I agree - Best phone ever - if it worked! 

Give me the N97 with faster processor and new symbian 3 with nice transitions, improved lens cover - I would be happy - According to Psycho we could be in luck later this year.

I'm glad to join the campaign and I hope to see some big changes in the near future. We all like our phone. . . . . . .but we want to LOVE IT.

There are circulating pictures in the net of a slide and tilt Nokia phone with a four row keyboard and of a design factor that looks similar to the N8...So yeah, there may be something in the works.

Do you think guys that N8 will be able to handle the user-defined ringtone?
Personally, I don't think so.

That is really something I won't bother to think about.

I believe that Nokia will have managed to fix this with either the new hardwares or the new s^3.

The wierd thing about this is that I've never had that issue with any of my phones (n97 and 5800) - and I have used only songs as ringtones and not the preloaded. (Note: that doesn't meen I deny it'ss a issue for you guys...)


I will wait and see. (I really think that Nokia has noticed this issue a long time ago and done something with it on the new devices.)

I really hope so. I changed three N97 devices because such an issue and I still have it without any enhansment.

@ahmmetwally - Its got twice the RAM of the N97, not to mention that the 5800 with same RAM as N97 but minus the RAM eating widgets dont have this issue. So yes, it likely does solve the issue.

In terms of hardware, the N8 is almost like N97 hardware doubled up, so yeah...

yes it got double ram but it  also got 3 disktops

and waht about the the C space!

That spec sheet can handle dual boot WinMo+Android, what more simply Symbian.

No need for confusion , the N97 does have NAND memory.  C drive is on it. D & Z too I assume.

That what I thought I new too I now sure know why my n97 hasn't been all that great! ( no c space, no os, no preinstalled apps)
