I have my new Nokia n97 mini since 2 days. Before I also had a Nokia (6210 Navigator), since I am using my new phone I am not able to receive an SMS. I still have the same provider and still a Nokia, so there hasn't changed a lot. I am able to sent SMS and they also arrive to the one I sent them to. Does anybody know what I should do? I already emptied my inbox and checked if there is a blockade om my phone, there isn't. Thnx.

Hey,

I appreciate that it has been a while since the original post. I am having the same problem with a Nokia N97 mini. It just doesnt receive sms. There is plenty of memory and there is not blocks in place from the carrier. Im not really sure how to fix as I took it into the shop and they could not find a solution for me either.

If anyone has any idea on a solution, id love to hear it!!

Menu-->Messaging-->Options-->settings-->

Select 'Text message'.. check if the Message center in use is properly defined..(SIM message Center)..

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have tried that solution and everything looks properly defined in the message settings.

I have done some further fault finding and this is what i got. Bear with me, i hope not to confuse.

Ok, I have 2 phones.

1st phone (Nokia N97 mini + Sim card 1) - Known fault, not receiving sms, sometimes sms goes out.

2nd phone (Nokis N85 + Sim card 2) - No known fault, used for testing.

Note: Both sim cards are from the SAME network provider but are seperate accounts.

Ok, in the 1st phone with sim card 1 there is no sms getting delivered. So I swapped the Sim cards between the phones and tried sending SMS to the other number and to the same numbers on both phones.

Once the swap was done, the N85 was unable to receive or send sms messages and the N97 mini was able to fully receive and send all SMS.

So..... You would think the SIM card in the first configuration is the issue, since that testing we went into the shop and explained the issue. They gave a new sim card and programmed it. we get home to test and Same problem.....

Its got me stumped. Settings all appear the same for each phone in each configuration and all looks good.

Any suggestions?
