This has also happened in my N85 device until a recent patch of the Symbian OS. The patch allows to delete corrupted media files through the media player.
However, another problem I'm experiencing has not yet found its solution... I used to hear audio through the file manager for a long time because of it. And that's rather annoying.
I'm not sure how it happens, but after a given number of activations of the player it simply empties some of the directories in my memory card... For instance I have this directory:
Memory Card/Music/Dido
The foldier itself remains but is emptied of content, even other foldiers.
I know that the music player is responsible because when I used the file manager this stopped happening.
Any suggestions? I'm considering setting to Factory Settings but I'd rather refrain from that.
-EDIT- It seems I've made a terrible mistake and confused the N8 with the N85. Bleh.
