Does anyone know if there is anyway for the predictive text on the N97 / 5800 can guess the whole word when you have typed the 1st few letters, and also then guess (or remember) the next likely word.
Sony Erricson's can do this (on symbian and standard phones).
If it is not within the installed software cannot do it are there any known 3rd party applications to do this?
Thanks.

The N97 can't do it using the alphanumeric keypad.
I haven't seen any apps that enable this feature either.

I set it in Messaging (although you can set it anywhere you can enter text. Notes etc).
Go to New message, Go to the body of the message, then with the Keyboard open. Select Options -> Input Options -> Activate Prediction.
It Only seems to work on Qwerty and it only seems to predict the current word. Not what you are going to write next

It sort of works for long words. Pressing down works for shorter words and multiple choice.

I'm not a big user of the qwerty pad myself so didn't play with it much.
I suppose it's better than nothing!

I Find the Predictive Text on the N97 Annoying in general as it seems to Adapt when you don't want it to.
i.e. I sent a text once saying "Do you want to meet at 3?"
Then later talked about the price of something being £3.50. The phone entered that as £3?50.
it just starts messing around predicting punctuation and it only seems to have started on the N97. Never noticed it on the 5800.

Agreed, i've had a few messages like that too.
Can't remember the 5800 behaving quite like that towards punctuation. I'm sure it used to always offer the full stop first, followed by the others in order.

Hi,
I'm interested if there is an option to automatically include names of your contacts into consideration for predictive texting? I have E52, but I don't think that's matters in this case because it has same OS as mentioned phones in this thread.
If not, where can someone send feedback to Nokia to consider this, above all, very useful thingy...
