Can I send or receive any date from my laptop to my 5800??
I want to know how I can utilize the wifi option of my 5800...
thanks
Not really sure what you want to do. Are you talking about a PAN? For this you need BT. To utilize the wifi option, just turn it on and connect to any available or authorized access point. You do not need a laptop to do this. Another option that you earlier spoke of was to use JoikuSpot. This works well, but as I mentioned, you have to purchase this. You need to set up a connection from your 5800XM to your laptop via BT to create a PAN.
Your instructions are not very clear and you are not making complete sentences. I tried to answer based on what I think you meant.

Please please....
Dont mis-understand, i am not that type.... pessimistic.
I never said a word after purchasing and finding problems in 5800, i knew nokia is working on the update and they will rectify the problems. It was only when i updated the new version and still found problems.
Guys, if you are cheated once it may be a mistake but if you are cheated twice, certainly either you are a fool or need to be helped. Its ok if you are happy with the problems, please enjoy!. May be i am not that rich to afford experiments but if in this competetive market nokia wants to experiment, i dont think it will be good for their brand image.
Anyway, pls dont take anything personally, as this was in general addressed to all and I just wished that everyone feels secure to write what he feels and is not overpowered or suppressed by anyone else.

Anybody can "cut&paste", I bet even you can do that.
Though you should be more concerned about the quote, which was wrote by my own hands and quoted from the memory.
And by the way is much more about "copy&paste" not "cut&paste".
That'll be all from me in this regard.
I'm not going to argue with you anymore on this.
It's not worth it.

Agreed. Errors that were supposed to be fixed, should RIP and not pop up again in a firmware fix release. Here, Nokia needs to be chided and held responsible. Also everyone has the right to shout to the heavens about their displeasure, especially after paying their hard earned cash for a supposedly fixed but still inadequate device. However, as this is a technical forum, complaining about Nokia or directly here or in other threads will not get you (not you literally) the response you are looking for. What you will get is the senior members lookig at your posts, labeling you a complainer, or worse: troll, and they will pass by without bothering to look further at deserving individuals that really require help.

If you are going to try and insult someone in a foreign languge, make sure you speak it well enough to do so.
School is in session:
1. Copy&Paste while not exactly Cut&Paste is close enough to denote that a group of text will be, well copied and pasted into a document or onto a line or within a sentence. (Zero points for you)
2. You actually mean: "Written by my own hand" unless you can write with both hands at the same time. (Zero points again)
3. You wrote: "quoted from the memory". It is actually: "quoted from memory." (Zero points)
This only turned into an argument when I stated to you that this is a technical forum and not a place for you to rant and vent about how disppointed you are. You are right to be dissatisfied with your phone but in the same vein, you are in the wrong place to come here and rant about it. Click the Contact US button at the top and Nokia will be informed, or better yet go back to your local Nokia dealer where you go the phone and make them (do not take no for an answer) exchange it for a working model that performs to your specifications. This is your right as a paying customer. If you are not happy, you should let those that can do something about know of your displeasure. Expressing it here in a general user forum where Nokia does not tread is a waste of your time (you could be at your local dealer), and anyone who has to read through all of these posts to try and find a solution to their problem.
I say this to you with no malice or anger. You are just frustrated and taking it out here. There are better avenues for this.

Create a profile with OVI from your device...
Go to contacts and go to options: ---now choose SYNCHRONISATION...............
it will ask you to choose the profile...
Choose the OVI profile...
it takes 30 sec to sync all your contacts to OVI website...
you go log on to www.ovi.com and sign in and check your contacts....even you can edit in the computer and when you sync again it will be updated in your mobile device....
Currently only contacts can be synced with this method....
any doubts----come back to me...

Well, I would say hold on a bit if you are apprehensive but if you happen to live near a Nokia Service Center or one is not too far away, I would say it is a good buy compared to other competing models / brands.
As for the problems, like most other posters said, the phone has it's own problems but it is expected that Nokia will iron it out, hopefully.
Hope my 2 cents worth is helpful. Happy Niu Year 2009.

For my company, Mail for Exchange(latest version) not works in Nokia 5800.
It says with the error "Set secure connection to yes" ( even i have set it as 'yes'). But in E71 it works fine.
Looks like some security issue is there in nokia 5800. Can some one had faced the problem / rectified please help.....

With regards to the earpiece problem, as of the 23'rd of Jan, Nokia have agreed that it is a known fault and to be repaIred under warranty.

Just checked..... No firmware updates avail. You seem to be the only one reporting this not to mention that you can not post a link to a site where you claim Nokia is taking responsibility for the ear piece problem. Me thinks I smell a rat, or at least a liar here......
Psycho..... Your statements seem to be justified. However this can be avoided by you posting a link and a screen shot or some other proof of this mythical upgrade.

Actually I expeccted a lot more from the wifi technology (as I am not that much aware of it)...I thought using wifi I even can send and share my files with my laptop (which has wifi feature as well)...but from your speech I came to know that Bluetooth is quite better than wifi tech in case of sharing files... In simple words I can tell u what I want...I just want to share a folder of my laptop and access it using my cellphone (5800)...want to share files using wifi (as both have wlan option)

You did not find the profile because the configuration file was not sent to your phone. You will need to follow his instructions exactly, then pick any S60 v3 phone and it will send you an SMS with the config data. Save it and is should work.
