Re: Please nokia change my N97 for a remake of the n97

Hi guys,

That is my point here, If I wanted a phone that only runs an app at the time, so its fast, I would get an Iphone,  but the point of getting a expensive nokia is to be able to load it with lots of apps at the same time and not noticing it, as my old N95-8GB which it wasnt a ferrari but it was ok and a lot more stable that N97.

If I have to disable themes animations, which i dont have any, but its nice to have the option, in order to get my phone a bit faster, that means to me that there is something wrong with the phone.

btw I have that problem with messages, either to read or create. :-(.

I too am one of the luckier ones. The delay between pressing the text button and getting to the text screen is also only a couple seconds here and I do have themes enabled.

The N97 may be slow in some people's experiences but people need to understand that not all of them are considered writeoffs. Mine runs like a dream currently but I would like to get hold of the v12 firmware. I can categorically state my N97 is not slow and I am comparing loading and response times with how it felt when I had an iPhone which doesn't multitask like the N97 can.

Re: Please nokia change my N97 for a remake of the n97

Then UPGRADE to N95 8GB again!!! Why are you downgrading to N97 or N86??? Only upgrade solution for N95/N95 8GB users is to go for another N95 8 GB, AGAIN...!

I can't understand where Nokia is concentration now! But I think they are concentrating on releasing New products LATE and that too with LOT of bugs (both software AND hardware bugs!) and are even more determined to loose the loyal customers.

Re: Please nokia change my N97 for a remake of the n97

Hi kbsg,

I had to sell my N95-8GB to get N97, but yet although the N95-8 GB it was really good , i was getting bored after having it for nearly two years, and I wanted a change, but for good, I wanted the iphone killer, as nokia loyal customer, but as you say nokia is losing customers with their but designs, and avoiding to recognize their mistakes.

As I said at the beginning I have several problems with the phone, like apps downloaded from ovi o pre installed on the phone, closing down itself  and giving me an error message without even running them or running them on background, which even if I take it to the nokia repair centre its going to be difficult for them to find out as this happens at random times.

I am a nokia lover, but when but when you give much more (ie 500 pounds) than they give its time to think if it is worth it. Maybe its better to have only one app at the time but not having the phone crashing that often.

I would also like to say for those that say that you are lucky with your N97, I was the same than you a few week ago, my phone runs like a dream!!!! and I had lot of apps, loots of music, videos, games, etc and I was defending nokia despite some minor problems, one day the handset started doing weird things and then it went off completely, I took it to nokia repair centre, and they re flash it it was working again, but after a whle I realise that the handset was not working so weel, here I am trying to get other people experience on some how faulty units, how did they manage to get nokia to fix it properly?

Thanks and Sorry for such a long story.

Re: Please nokia change my N97 for a remake of the n97

Hi amragl,
When I said upgrade to N9508GB, I was actually sarcastic! And truely speaking there is no worthy and stable upgrade for the N95 & N95-8GB! And I am saying if Nokia doesn't pay heed to the "Official" forums, they surely are going to start loosing customers...
And I hope that doesn't happen! Ever! Me too a nokia fan!

Re: Please nokia change my N97 for a remake of the n97

HI kbsg,

I do agree on what you say, I hope nokia solve this mess some how, as I am not sure about other brands. Sure there are some which lool awsome, but not sure how multitask or reliable can be.

If Nokia does not do anything, what would stop us from go to other brand phones, which looks cool but it may be buggy?

There are certanly ather  phone that look cooler than the N97, and this time nokia users put their hopes on NOKIA whith no success but disapointment We'll see what the next step of nokia to recover loyal customers.

Regards.

Cesar.

Re: Please nokia change my N97 for a remake of the n97

Yesterday I sold my N97 on eBay, with a loss of € 250.
If you are still angry anout the poor quality of the N97 you can better sell it fast.

Now it is still 'hot'....

Yes, I have my E72

Re: Please nokia change my N97 for a remake of the n97

Hi weid 1374,

I can understand why did you do that, but to me this is kind of personal and I want nokia to do something about it.

Thats the reason of opening this discussion, either to join as many people as possible and ask nokia to fix for good the n97, or maybe get someone that has an idea how to contact with nokia and make a formal petition.

If that is not possible ( which it seem more than likely), then I would use the most from the 2 years warranty, which I know that does not bother nokia at all, but its the very least I can do to make them pay, If I can get a big group I would do what I can mayself.
