Hello, i just bought a Nokia 5530 XpressMusic. The phone is very nice but I wasn't able to successfully connect it to my PC through USB cable nor Bluetooth.
I have a Notebook with WinVista 32 Home Premium. I have installed everything that came with the installation CD (OviSuite and stuff). OviSuite updates itself to latest version but no matter what I do I can't connect to the phone.
With the phone connected through USB cable I see the cellphone listed on the Connection/Initialization/Configuration wizard but when I click on it a pop up comes up saying the phone is not in PCSuit mode (but believe me it is). I have tried every other mode just in case without luck.
Actually Windows detects the phone and shows it as another drive. I can even browse its folders and/or copy files, but what I want is to use the synchronization software to make backups, edit contacts, etc.
I also installed the latest version of PCSuite (which I don't completely understand if it is an older version of OviSuite or what). Same result.
I uninstalled and reinstalled OviSuite, unplugged and plugged the phone, turned it on and off, reboot the PC, etc.
I downloaded latest USB cable drivers (CA-101) but application says they are already installed.
So, I don't know what else to do.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
BTW, I don't know if this is important but my OS is spanish.
Thanks

When you say that it shows as another drive, does it look like a picture of a phone in My computer or just the same with a flash drive? If it doesnt look like a little 5530, then it did not connect to the computer via PC suite mode. Also check under installed programs what software are listed as Nokia. Is there a Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver there?

Thanks for replaying.
Yes, it looks like a tiny nokia phone, and the name of the drive is Nokia 5530.
I'm attaching a .png with all nokia related apps found under installed programs, included Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver.
Any other idea is welcome since I'm trying to avoid going back to the store.
Thanks in advance

That's strange. You even have more Nokia stuff installed than I do and mine works perfectly.![]()
Anyway, try to uninstall everything. All Nokia related software, as there may be conflicting issues. Reboot the notebook then Install only Ovi Suite, then try it.
