0575581 isn't the product code of an O2-branded phone. It's the UK CV unbranded phone. I have the same.

Out of interest what does the 'CV' stand for? Custom variant?

In other news I tried FOTA on my 5800 last night and got v31 finally for product code 0575581. Put that product code into the 'can I update' section of Nokia's website, and it says the latest version available is v30....eh? What's going on there?

If my post has helped you in anyway, please press the 'kudos' button.

Re: O2 (uk) and firmware v30 on the 5800XM

My 5800XM was directly bought from Nokia in UK. The phone was delivered from Netherlands warehouse.

My current firmware is v21 (I myself updated from v20).

How do I get v30 or v31? When I check of update from phone, it says no newer version available!

CV means "Country Variant" AFAIK.

The discrepancy between FOTA and the "Can I update?" page comes from the fact that you're talking about two entirely different delivery methods.

"Can I update?" polls the database that is used by Nokia Software Updater (using your Windows PC to do the update). NSU has no knowledge of what's available via FOTA, so even if you can do an over-the-air update, NSU has no way of knowing this.

Similarly, just because version 'X' that is newer than the version on your phone is available via NSU, the FOTA system has no knowledge of that and will tell you that there are no updates unless they are also made available via that channel.
