I get around 500-600KBps when downloading on my mobile(nokia 500).But when I'm connecting with pc,webpages simply don't open.Getting 3-20KBps(varying every second) using IDM.I checked whether its my computer's problem by connecting with an E66,but its working fine giving around 200-300KBps.
I'm still having the firmware v10.029.The updated one is not showing in ovi suite.Someone please help.

Hey Aschleeron,
Thank you for your first post and let me welcome you to the Nokia discussion forums!
In regards to your issue you are having this could be something to do with your network provider and tethering.
Some networks do not allow tethering and if they detect that you are using your mobile device to connect to your P.C to the internet they may slow down your 3g speed deliberately so this could be one possible reason why. What I would do is to check with your network provider to see if this is the case.
Who is your network provider by the way?
Let me know if this is the case but I suspect it is.
Regards
Raoul

Hey thanks for getting back to me.
Yes firmware is specific to country and also to network providers as well. If the the phone is bought unlocked you can get the latest update via your localised Nokia website. I have attached the link below. There isn't an upgrade yet but if there was it would be located on the link below
http://www.nokia.com/in-en/support/product/500/
In regards to your speed issues I would double check with your network provider about there policies in regards to tethering. I wouldnt want to speculate why your previous phone worked flawlessly but please check with your network provider.
I know this may not be a direct anwser but in order for me to diagnose what may be causing this issue I will need eliminate whether your network allows tethering.
If you can check this for me and let me know.
Thanks Achleeron!
