Dear friends,
I have my n96 for more than a year. Few days ago I deleted some .cfg files in Downloads in mass memory. After switching off the phone and then switching on phone didn't wont to start and following message appear: Phone start-up failed. Contact the retailer. Any solutions please?! Thanks in advance.

There are a few things you can try.
Start with removing the memory card. If that doesn't work then remove the battrey and leave it out for at least 5 minutes before replacing and restarting.
If this doesn't work then you need to try the deep reset. The deep reset will wipe all data from your phone memory so unless you have a previous backup, you will lose all your data.
The "3 finger deep reset" is as follows. With the phone powered off, depress and hold these three keys simultaneously "*" "3" "green phone" and then power on phone using the on/off button whilst keeping the three keys depressed until you hear start-up tone.
This should ONLY be done if the device doesn't power up normally anymore and it wipes everything in the Phone memory that is not part of the ROM.

I tried that too. It didn't' work. The same message again. Thanks anyway. If anyone has something else on it's mind I'll be grateful.
