Nokia, a spammer?

For many days now, I have received spam from Nokia. The subject is Costumer care feedback survey, and it is sent from NoReplay.customercare@nokia.com. I have a quite good spam filter, but some passed through. My spam box is of course full of these Nokia spams. I have already filled out one of these serveys , containing my name, telephone number and email address. Well giving them my email address was unfortunately a big mistake. I have checked this server sending out this spam, and it is acting as a "robot". The security level on the server is however quite low, so .......

Could it be that Nokia has done a very big mistake by spamming me? Many years ago, before most of you was born and even planned to be borne, I was working as a Pascal programmer. At that time , the early eighties, the first viruses was already created. Well, in lack of other hobbies, I started to collect viruses and other "goodies" at that time. For about 3 years ago I passed 1000. These are of course containing the original code. They can easely be "modified" for whatever purpose you might want.

My favorites are the one that is intended to be installed in the Bios, and the other one used to not only attack servers, but can work invisible for a long period of time in servers to big organisations.

After being "on the other side of life" for a while (I have been deathly sick), having no religion and no God, I try to belive in the human race. Sorry to say, but Nokia is making my "belive" very difficult. First no warranty, production failure on a new telephone, no help getting spare parts at all levels in the organisation (which I was willing to pay for) and now they are spamming me continiuosly. What next, Mr. Nokia? The Nokia voodoo priest???

Here is the Nokia joke of today: Many of you are very concerned what could be called a "smartphone"or not. Well, I can easely understand that the N97 is a socalled "smartphone", because everytime Nokia produce, export and sell a "smartphone", some of Nokias intelligence are exported with it, and if not being refilled......... say no more! :smileyvery-happy:

Anyone else having problems with spam from Nokia? Maybe we should not give any information to Nokia if spam is the only "thanks" and socalled Nokia "care" center (which seems to be cutting your head and then your arms and then spam you!!!!) My Nokia joke was seriosly ment, This is the most unintelligent organisation I have ever been in contact with (and belive me I have contacted many).

What do you think, should I "spam" them back? You spam me, and I spam you could be the rule.

And by the way, has anyone found a white touch screen to N97?

Re: Nokia, a spammer?

I think the spam mails are not from Nokia because I also get spam mails from Barclays Bank which are not from Barclays. Just click on spam button and mails from that address automatically dropped in spam box. You gave your email address and it is your big mistake. I suggest you to use Gmail. It has inbuilt strong spam filter. Don't open that spam mail because it is also harmful for your system and data.

Re: Nokia, a spammer?

The E Mail would have been from Nokia asking you to tell them about when you contacted them.

Most compinays do this now, its upto you if you fill it in or not.

Re: Nokia, a spammer?

According to you, after sending a mail to this Nokia care center, they register you, name, email adress and so on. Afterwards Nokia is given the personal information to "another" Nokia company, also using a Nokia.com adress , which you says is not a "Nokia" company. Confused? Well, it does not make the situation any better. I would have been more conserned than ever if you are right. If you are right, nobody want to give any info to Nokia. That is bad, because they obviosly need more "intelligence" in this organisation. I think the big bosses in Nokia could stop smoking cigars for a moment and tell us the truth about the above mentioned issue.

And about the "dangerous" machine codes and viruses I could get, as you already know I collect the "best" of them, so do not have any concernings.:smileyhappy:

Re: Nokia, a spammer?

Yes, I have had email like this from other companies (like HP). But it is the number of emails ( same sender, same subject, same server) I react upon. My spamfilter settings are to delete spam after 12 hours, so it is difficult to know the exact number because many could have been deleted and I am lazy to check the spam inbox.. About 15 have passed through the spam filter, and I started to delete them in the beginning, but then I got tired of the spam.

About my question. I have a defect N97 touch screen. The "touch screen unit" is in reality the whole front of your N97. So, if you have a black N97 you need a black front. And all I have been seing in internet is black. I have a white N97 so i would preferable want a white. But it is not looking bad with a black front! So maybe I put a black front on a white N97; it will be one of the few! :smileywink:

If the mails are from genuine source then you can easily unsubscribe or stop from that by clicking on Unsubscribe button. If it is not from genuine source then just drope it in spam folder.

Re: Nokia, a spammer?

It was the theory from ricksvill that maked me start to think. Well, I have already past my first fifties, so I am probably a more slow thinker than most of you. He wrote:

It was not when I contacted them, but these endless surveys.

When you contact Nokia by phone, they register your telephone number and if you have given the email adr. and telephone number, well it is easy for them to recognice you. As for mine questions, they was more "difficult" than for example: How many deciliter in 1 liter? Then you are sent around in "the big Nokia universe" an endless loop of socalled experts. The only thing that is 100% sure, is that you are not getting any sensible answers, and that the last person you are put througt is either not answering or busy in the telephone (the last one is probably this Nokia voodoo priest). Anyway, it seems like every socalled "expert" is making a "new" "registration. That is sensible enoght, if you are talking with other than the "usual" departments.

I have a book where i notice every telephone calls, and comparing them with the time I got this emails and the time I make the telephone calls, it match. Also the number of people I was talking with. This make sence. So thank you ricksvill for solving this:smileyhappy:

Maybe my next call to Nokia should be with Skype so they can not see any telephone numbers! And mention Skype, I think we will have to wait a long time for Skype for N97. Something went wrong between Skype and Nokia. But if I had a functional N97, I would have backed up the telephone, and installed the N95 or the N96 Skype light version.

Of course on your own risk. But what is there to loose, a hard restart? And of course, Skype is using Pascal code programming! Installing N96 or N95 version could be the solution and make users more happy. Anyone out there that is willing to try?? Let us know!

Re: Nokia, a spammer?

Appl1,

please forward one of those emails to support.discussions (a) nokia.com. I'll try to check if it's really coming from Nokia and find out why you're getting it again and again.

Re: Nokia, a spammer?

Thanks for reply; the first sign there is an existing "Nokia man" out there someplace in the Nokia universe.... I contacted my internet supplier, which also have a web based mailsystem I use. My trash folder setting was set to delete every time i logged out of the mail system. After checking with my internet supplier, they first ment it was impossible to get "back" my deleted emails (also containing these Nokia mails). But sometimes later , they ment it was possible, but they needed to do it manually. And I needed to approve that I let a person check my deleted emails. Well, I do not like "anyone"doing this, because there is also of course personal mails that is deleted (and I should of course know that deleted is not deleted) .

On the other hand, why should I help Nokia with anything (please give me only one small reason)?

I have kept one copy of these mails, which I will use to compare with if someone new is coming. Also, my Internet supplier confirmed that they had noticed several of mails (spam) containing paths that was manipulated (example emails saying it comes from nokia, but...). She was not allowed to say anything about the emails, and would also not answer if Nokia was one of them (strange rules).

Personally I am not concerned about these sort of emails (spam) coming from whoever. Many of you change email address, and have maybe 10 email address to administrate. In fact, there is a more effective way of doing it.

Attack the server, instead of trying delete or format the storage medium (they can easily be recovered), start to write over the storage devices, maps or files or program code. You will notice if you have succeed or not that the emails stops. But it takes time and effort to do it, so better use the time to fight against the lack of serious politic in the Nokia organization.

Today I visited some Nokia stores. And I could get several serial numbers on the N97. I have also a long list over socalled Nokia care centers worldwide. So I will start to call with Skype or manipulated telephones, making as much disorder in their "system" as possible! Time is money, so more time I can spell for Nokia, the better! Remember, Nokia has so far not helped me in any ways, the Nokia Care center means that you have to take care Nokia, and not the opposite way. Well, as you should have noticed, I have already started taking "care" of this company!

And as you have noticed, I never give up. If so I would not have been alive today as you might remember.

If you first start digging after "**bleep**" in a company of Nokias size, you do not need to dig very deep.

Today I contacted a person with experience in the warranty laws in general, and of course Nokia specially. There seems to be a special warranty law in Finland that only excist in Finland, Nokias home country. If the information I got is correct, you can buy a Nokia or whatever brand wherever you want, and if delivered to a dealer in Finland, you have your full warranty rights. If so, I could have sent my N97 to Finland and that would have solved all problems! And if so, why not inform everybody about this? Why I am never surprised about this company lack of ethic and normal behavior?

The principal matter is in my case the most important. The front cover containing the touch screen

is a cheap part if you find the right supplier (29 USD), and Nokia pays appr. 3 USD for this part. So Nokia has already lost many times more, and will of course loose much more.

Well, I will soon start digging more, and with my contacts I could write a novel every day about Nokia in this forum, but I am probably boring you. So I will stop writing for a while (everybody happy!!!?):smileyvery-happy:

And to vandelay, please not be concerned about these nokia.com emails. If they should start again, I will put my "voodoo" hands on the actual server, and all problems will be solved!

Also, please show my "writings" to "the upper cigar level" in the Nokia organization so that they can see there is an "intelligent" life (and something called customers) outside the Nokia universe. And maybe they could think there is still hope for the human race?:smileysurprised:

appl1, the reason we are asking that you provide the email address is so that we can determine if you do have a legitimate complaint - this is to to help you out and not helping Nokia out in anyway. However, if you do not wish for us to check it out further, then by all means, feel free to ignore Vandelay's request.
