Terry, they either are snowing you, or they just don't know all the facts that they should.

These HW design issues are widely known here in Nokia's home land and I heard this through

the grapevine but haven't seen the actual official announcement.

Both the camera lens and the GPS antenna are permanently  fixed on the back cover.

Scratched lens can reflect light from the flash LEDs to the camera censor, which is visible as

a pale shade in picture.

The original GPS antenna was poorly isolated and thus was subject to EMC from the circuit board.

Improved antenna boost the reception by couple of dB's

My own N97 has been waiting for spare part for almos two weeks now (seems like everybody else are also having their phones repaired at the same time)! Meanwhile I have been very happy with my E66, which have never failed on me!!

Nokia N97 firmware V20.0.019 out in Australia. I think mine is branded cos it's current version is 12.0.026 or nokia care centre debranded it. anyway its in Australia now

Haha updated and my widgets are going nuts! What was the old version no. of the Facebook app by the way? Mines not any different as far as I can tell. Turned on a bit faster but at the moment doing some weird stuff!

The first time you switch the phone on, it takes a while to do some stuff... OS related me thinks. give it about 10 minuted then re-start.

here in Germany the new firmware is not out yet... I have a not branded N97 RM505 and via OVI Suite 2.0 (Software updater included) my version 12.0.026 ist the latest version.... does anyone have any information when it will be out here in Germany???

Thanks B9099, I might also do a reset and start fresh tomorrow just for the hell of it. I'm disappointed they couldn't implement any of the new Social Networks app from Beta Labs in this update, that had real potential but I guess we'll have to wait for that too!
