Nokia are nothing but money grabbing LIARS. I know this is slightly off topic but can I draw you attention to another little lie told by Nokia. On the spec of the N97 they list it as being XpressPrint compatible "Nokia XpressPrint: direct printing via USB connection (PictBridge), Bluetooth connectivity (BPP) or via online printing". The only thing is that XpressPrint software will not work on Symbian V5 so there's no such thing as "online printing" like the other N series phones have. This is another example of Nokias BS promises and blatant miss-selling not unlike the promise we would be getting Skype and V2.0 before the month is out!!!!!

look man i agree with you i really miss my n95. it was a much stable phone at least it doesnt need to be hard reset every week. all the publicity and the ads done by nokia just put me under a spell to buy an n97 but till now its really disappointing. i hope nokia would make it up to their customers by their new firmware release. i have been using nokia since the nokia 3210. i always loved nokia so nokia dont lose your loyal customers. i hate to regret this but i am honnestly thinking to sell my n97 for an i phone 3gs.

Ive got Fring too Fred but I want what we were promised, that being SKYPE. I dont want to have to buy Fring and Skype credit for making standard calls. We are being ripped off!

Also an N95 can order online prints and use VOIP but my top of the range N97 cant and dosent even have Internet Radio!!!!!

I totally agree, this phone is like my primary school report cards, the words "wasted potential" come to mind whenever it bricks itself. Every single advertised feature (ultimate facebook phone, widgets? don't make me laugh!) that made me expensively cancel my N95 contract has disappointed me, except for the touch screen. All the features that do work like the 5MP camera, video playback and GPS I already had on my N95.

If you buy an iphone though, don't think you'll be any less disappointed!

You don't have to buy Fring AND Skype credits...

All you need is Skype Out credits on your Skype account, and you can make Skype Out calls easily via Fring.

I don't know why everyone is fussing about having a proper Skype app...I have always used Fring and it works beautifully.

You can get SKYPE from here: http://www.skype.com/mobile/. Get the N96 version, it works fine on the N97. I have had it for a couple of months and it works fine. Ideal for international calling.

I dont have wireless (use a vodafone dongle) so it dials a local Landline number to make the connection, ideal for me as my contract includes free landline calls. For others this will just use your normal minutes.

Thats Skype Lite mate not a proper Skype client. It charges you to phone other Skype users at the local rate. The whole point in the N97 skype was it was totaly free like the PC version that you could use over WIFI or 3G.

Blackberry : Connecting People suits it more ..

THe blackberry messenger keeps all friends together constantly talking and sharing pictures n stuff .

What do we get ? Ovi contacts that only suppots gmail and ovi ... No file sharing, no photo sharing no voice messages no nothing ...

Facebook integrated contact pictures (The contact picture in the BB is the person's facebook profile picture)

The N97's "Connecting People" idea is allll false ... 

THe only thing it connects to is delaying updates and bricking mobiles
