Hello,
I have for over 8 months a NOKIA N97. Besides all the other issues that I already gave up on complaining, there's a camera issue that's ultra-annoying and that will lead me to take the phone to a nokia care center. The camera only works around 20% of the times... I press the camera button, or slide the lens windows, and the camera function gets turned on but I can only see a black screen, no image. Sometimes rebooting the phone gets the camera to work, but not all the times, and even if it gets working, after some shots the problem reappears. When this issue occurs the video playback also doesn't work (for recorded videos and even for youtube) .
I've already tried hard reseting the phone, installing the latest available firmware update (20.0.0.19), and the problem only keeps getting worst...
From what I could see from google, there's several people complaining about this (example http://www.zedge.net/forum/t/73008/nokia-n97-camer
What I'd like to know is if anyone had this issue, and how did nokia solved it (or not...) ?

Hi,
I am having exactly the same problem I share your feelings! Unfortunately no-one has solved the mystery. All kind of re-settings is a waste a time. By the way, blanck screen appears also after few minutes of watching video...
Otherwise a good phone indeed.

Hello, have my phone just two months and now the camera black screen problem is really bad. I try to reset several and in many ways, but the problem persist,
Anyone can help me?
Maybe we need to reinstall the firmware or something like that. The actual firmware is updated, and everything is working fine, just the camera is crazy thing.

I'm also having the exact same problem since almost 2 to 3 months from now. ![]()
Hope this would be fixed in the next firmware update.
