Hi, basically my problem is in the title, my phone is continuously pressing 'J' and I cannot stop it, even when the slide is closed and often when they keys are locked. I have NOT dropped the phone or anything like that, I go out of my way to keep it safe and this problem emerged on Thursday when I recieved a message asking if I wanted to auto update. I said yes, it apparently had installed the update but then hours later this problem starts so I look online the next day and thought i'd try and manually update the firmware, which told me I did not have the latest firmware.. So I installed it, the problem remained. I look around and see that a lot of people have resolved issues with a hard reset, I have also tried this and it has not fixed my problem. What can I do?

return it to point of purchase or a nokia care centre

I've bought the phone off eBay (brand new) will that make a difference? and are self-caused software/hardware this common in this handset? As i've paid a lot of money and otherwise really do like this phone.

not issues like your phone no take it to nokia care and see what they have to say

Will do, just quite frustrated as I go out of my way to make sure the phone is kept in good condition and something like this happens which is the kinda thing i'd expect to happen if I dropped it or something. Thanks anyway

Today the phone has stopped pressing the 'J' button.. But I try and use it to text, and the button no longer works..

Def a hardware issue...send it in to Nokia for repair.

Yeah the phone was absolutely brand new when I recieved it and I have been using it about 5 weeks and taking a great deal of care of it. I'll see what Nokia say, altho I don't fancy spending more money getting it repaired...

If it was brand new, I think your phone will be within warranty even if it's from ebay.

I had purchased a Philips product from ebay once and the customer rep at Philips said yes, it has warranty even if you buy from ebay.
