I updated the software on my phone - which wiped all my current data and settings. I sent a text to my phone and it worked as normal. I then backed up my settings and sent another text - and it went back to the way it was (no prompt).
So it has to be something to do with the settings - BUT I havent amended any settings - so I dont know where the problem lies.
This morning I deleted all my messages - as I thought the box might be too full and the issue was a knock on effect of this - but the deletion of all messages didnt have an impact at all.
My phone did this a few months ago, and by some miracle of restoring factory settings and wiping all memory it fixed itself. Last week however it started doing it again, and even taking it into the Carphone Warehouse and asking them to look at it hasn't fixed it.
Will let you know if i find a solution, anyone with answers would be much appreciated!
I found a post on another site can't find it now, but in short it's because you have more than 2000 messages, seems the OS can't do more than 2000. Delete some messages and then hard reboot the phone (Take the battery out while the phone is still on but idle)
