Hi everyone. My cel is a Nokia N95 8GB Black V 30.0.018 RM-320.
I upgraded to the version 30.0.018 at January/09 and never had any problem. At the middle of October/09 the main camera stops working. I did a research at the internet, tried everything. Nothing resolved my problem (hardware formating, reinstall the software....)
A couple of weeks ago i accidentaly dropped my cell on a cement floor from a 0.5 meter distance. For my surprise the camera back to normal. I think the problem can be a locked mechanism on the camera, originated by dust or by another fall on the floor on the past.
My cell is still working fine even today. Hope this could help. Sorry for the bad english !

There is no solution or work around this issues. The only thing I can suggest is to take it to Nokia Service Centre. The firmware fried the Accelerometer. Which is used by the Camera itself. So You are may be looking toward fixing the board instead. I got mine back from the service centre and they have to replaced the Whole logic board to get my phone back to normal. A new board and update firmware and all working great. ![]()
Hope this help.

I am one of the many Nokia N95 users who had problems when downloading Firmware V30. I lost the use of my camera, and messages, contacts etc. This was about five months ago. I tried my camera on numerous occasions, but it still didn't work. Thern about two weeks ago, I was waiting for a friend, and I went to call him to see how long he would be, I picked up the phone, and to my amazement the phone was in camera mode. I took a couple of pictures to see if it was really working and it was, including the video camera. and it is still working! Why i do ot know, I haven't done anything to the phone, and when it stopped working, I tried to get it fixed witha local Nokia dealer here in Paphos, Cyprus, but I was told that they don't have the software to fix it. The phone was bought in the U.S.A and brought to Cyprus by a relative as a present, and Nokia told me that i would either have to take the phone back to the USA or send it, neither option was acceptable, so i resigned myself to either keeping the phone without the camera, or buy a new phone, I am pleased to say that I am glad i didn't buy another phone.
Why it is now working I have no idea! Maybe others have got their camera back as well, I hope so,
Regards
Phil Burley.

Gentleman,
I have found the solution for the problems with the camera.
Apparently I am an owner of one dead n95 8gb and one working (except the camera ofcourse) n95 8gb.
The dead n95 8gb is only switching on and vibrating. But I noticed one thing.
When i put the camera from the working n95 to the dead n95, switch the dead n95 with the camera from the working one inside, and then remove the camera from the dead n95 and put it into the working one, the camera works !
It looks like there is a problem with the elecricity, because the dead n95 has some old firmware, I believe that it is even before the 20.0.0.1x. When the camera from the working one is placed in the dead one, the dead n95 is switched on and then the camera from the dead n95 is again placed in the working one, the camera seems to be working just fine !
The bad news is that after placing the camera back into the working one and then switching it on - off and on again - the camera does not work ![]()
I just hope that this information will help with solving the problem !
Cheers,
zi0

"The bad news is that after placing the camera back into the working one and then switching it on - off and on again - the camera does not work"
And that has just changed. I switched the phone off and on a couple of times and the camera is stil working !

I have the same problem with my mobile's camera.
The model is NOKIA N95-1. (firmware V35.0.002 - 18-11-09)
I have already done the hard reset and the deep reset, and I tried the camera's functionality(before the restore data), but it didn't work. There's an option to install only the plug-in of the camera or a software that checks the full system??
thx
Anybody has any idea on how to solve this problem?
Thanks!
Antonio

Guys, I've solved that problem!
All of you, who has that strange and disgusting thing -
1) You must charge the phone on 100%
2) Then turn it OFF and DO NOT turn it ON for 3 (three) days!
3) After that turn it on! That's all! I've done that, and now all cameras works fine, although I haven't tested Auto Rotation option yet (it's off now).
Please post this message wherever you will see that problem being discussed! It really works!
P.S.. Sorry for my english, I'm russian ![]()
