The sound can be heard through the headphones but the problem is the headset's remote control ain't functioning at all. what is the problem and could anyone explain what are the functions of the 5 buttons located on the remote as there's no info on it? Does the headset function as a handsfree also? Thanks for replying..

It should work. There is volume keys and mute on the side, and send/end button on the front. If music is playing then you can skip track.

Make sure that the little lock slide switch is slid up so that you can see silver paint otherwise the keys will not work.

Where does the little lock slide switch located. I couldn't locate it. My headset model is HS-43.

Same Problem here. The front button works for call answering so. And I haven´t found a key lock yet neither.

Even after installing the new firmware nothing changed in that matter.

So maybe the HS-43 Headset isn´t supposed to support those functions at all.

oops, sorry I have some other headset. On yours you should have volume keys and in the middle a mute key (but no lock switch). Long press of the send/end key should activate the voice dialing.

What kind of headset do you have in use. Nokia itself doesn´t list any other (wired) headsets as compatible with the N76 yet, as far as I know.

And being able to skip music tracks with the remote would be nice to have. It´s a little anoying the way it is.

In may case voice dialing is also activated by pressing the volume buttons for too long sometimes, sigh.

I have one that came with an N95 but it works quite happily with my N76.

I have the AD-43 that came with my N95 and it stopped working recently also, I could hear music but not do anything else

I took it to bits and inside there is a battery, like a watch battery, kinda like a button but bigger, anyway i replaced the battery and its working again, ive only had it 4/5 months and the battery is dead already, as this isnt a user replaceable part i guess nokia never accounted for the battery going flat

Well, I for myself haven´t run above that problem yet. And the phone ist about one and a half month old. The cover ist still fine, no peeling or wahtever. I wouldn´t advise to put the phone into your pockets together with keys or other metal things, so.

What is a real pain in the **bleep** are fingerprints. You won´t be able to prevent that from happening so it looks a little smudged every now and then.

It´s a nice phone but it´s far from perfect. It depends on what you´re looking for.

Since the day I owned N76 till now, there ain't any peeling on the chrome surface. Software is stable.

Chrome will peel off eventually, I guess by the way we open the cover. mine peel off from the side which is the way i open the cover using my finger, i guess it peel off due to my nail.

Software....slow. when u open an application, u must close all application to avoid this. I'm having trouble when using the search application.

the battery is the CR 2032 what you need to do is ...

remove the pin that goes through the clip at the back. then remove the plastic clip from the unit to revel a small star screw. remove the screw and then flick off the front of the unit. then remove the main board inside and take the battery out. put new batterry back in and put it back together.

NOTE: the pin is very hard to get in and out of the clip to start and need to be done with great care or you will end up causing damage to the plastic and cant put the clip back on.

i went to a few jewellery shops to see if they would do it for me but no luck which ment me doing it and now im having to have the control hanging rather then clipped onto my clothes.

i was also told taht if its under 12months (which the battery only last about 6 months) then you will be covered under the nokia guarantee, however they dont like to take responsabliaty for it!

how stupid to have a unit with a battery that customers cant get to to change when needed...looks like just another way to keep their money comming in to them!
