Nokia Europe WARRANTY and changing countries + phone problems

Hi. I've been having some serious problems with my few months old Nokia n82. I bought it from Italy, but now I'm in a different country of the European Union. My question is: can i bring the phone into a Nokia repair center in any country within the E.U. as long as it's in its warranty period?

The strange thing is that the phone didn't come with a warranty certificate like my previous phones did. The phone is genuine and was bought in a major Italian retailer a few months ago.

My problems are:

The camera doesn't focus anymore, when it's turned on it's really blurry and when i try to focus a shot it just tries to focus for one second and then the red bracket appears. Also, the lens is barely moving, like something's obstructing its path, so i believe the issue is hardware related.

The battery barely lasts 24h with minimal to moderate usage. It used to last for as long as 4 days with minimal usage but now i can barely use my phone for a day.

(The phone is China made, i can't stress enough on the poor casing quality and huge gaps between components, so I'm gonna skip the case and keyboard.)

That would sum it up.
Any info/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Nokia Europe WARRANTY and changing countries + phone problems

hey mate

I think you need to send it to the conuntry from where you bought. Thats the warranty policy of Nokia. They don't from where you have moved. So ya better to contact the care centre of the country from where the mobile was bought. They might help u to sort out the problem.

Give kudos if i helped u.

Re: Nokia Europe WARRANTY and changing countries + phone problems

The European warranty is valid in most of Europe:

This Limited Warranty is only valid and enforceable in the country where you have purchased the Product provided that Nokia has intended the Product for sale in that country. However, if you have purchased the Product in a member state of the European Union, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland or Turkey and Nokia originally intended the Product for sale in one of these countries, this Limited Warranty is valid and enforceable in all of these above listed countries. Some limitations to the warranty service may apply because of country specific elements in the Products.

I should point out that if it didn't come with a warranty in the manual, it might have been intended for a country outside of Europe, and therefore there may be no warranty.

Re: Nokia Europe WARRANTY and changing countries + phone problems

Actually, the box sticker states 24 month ITALY warranty, plus, the box contains the manual and addendum only in Italian and Spanish, and the phone has an European product code, and all major European languages so i guess it was intended for the European market.

Also, the sticker states (under the warranty thing) that the phone was imported by Nokia Italia.

So  I guess this means i could get it repaired in any country it was intended for.

 Thanks for the reply!

Re: Nokia Europe WARRANTY and changing countries + phone problems

As sockatume states, the warranty is valid throughout the EU and a small number of other countries. Nokia never includes a separate warranty document, the details are in the manual.

You can have it repaired in any country where the European warrnaty is valid, though wherever you go they have the right to ask for a proof of purchase.
